I am looking to pick up my first pair of Polks and was wondering about this pair I found on the Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230075121771&ssPageName=MERCOSI_VI_ROSI_PR4_PCN_BIX&refitem=150077751971&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&refwidgettype=osi_widget

Are these worth while or are they crap? I was also wondering how they compared to Tannoys, which is all that I own now. Thanks in advance for the help.

10b's are awesome. I absolutely love mine and I am in the process of planning a renovation on them.

As far as comparing to Tannoy, I can't say due to lack of experience. But I assure you that you will not be disappointed with the 10b's

The Monitor 7's are a better starting point than the Monitor 10's.

I've got two pairs of PBM-8s and a pair of System 8. I've also got a pair of B&W 600i bookshelves if there is a better comparison there.

They are the older 10B's. I purchased mine in 1989 and love them. I wish mine were made of real wood. Buy them you will love them.

Or if you're looking for a little more modern bookshelf Polk, I've been thinking about parting with my LSi7's. I haven't put them up in the flea market yet because I'm still thinking...

That link to what are "supposedly" RTA12C's has been on ebay for over a month now. He wants too much for them and they aren't 12C's, but the original 12's, which, because they were the first out of the chute, don't have the upgrades of the 12B's & 12C's, which I have. They're still a great speaker - my pop has a pair - but he's asking to much IMO.

What would you be looking for $ wise if you were to part with them? If you don't want to start a frenzy of offers on this thread, pm me and let me know what you are thinking.

Bill. You've been here less than 10 days and you're already qualified to buy and sell on the Polk Flea Market. Unless you're in a big rush to get Polks, I'd forget e-prey for the time being and focus on the MUCH better class of person you're going to run into here. Just a thought. On the Flea Market forum is a "Good Buyer and Seller" list maintained by Shack.

I don't know if JCaut is on the list but I'd buy land in Florida from him. Good man.

And/or, I have some minty 7Bs in storage here that you could borrow/buy when you get to the big D.

I would always prefer to buy from the forum, I was really looking for advise on what to buy and look for with these, as I am kinda dumb when it comes to polk stuff. If that is a killer deal on those 10b's I would take it. Otherwise I am kinda wondering which ones to look for in general. I know the lsi9's are praised, but are little out of my reach at the moment. Any help on the what to look for front would be great.

    Bill,

I'll send you a PM regarding the LSi7's.

And thanks, folks, for the endorsements! I appreciate it!
