Binding posts

It's time to do some upgrades. Question....are speaker binding posts the same as the binding posts behind an amplifier? I find that the banana plugs that go to the connectors behind my Phase Linear amps are loose and don't have a good solid connection. I'd like to replace ALL these posts on my amps, what should I use and is this easy to do (I have little experience with amplifier innards).

Also, my Bose 1801 amplifiers have 1/4 inch jacks in back for the speaker connections. I'd like to replace these with RCA type connectors. Again, is this easy to do for a novice and what type of connectors should I get and where do I get them from?

I would appreciate any advice from the experts out there, thanks.
