As much as he deserved it, I really have no desire to witness the life being extinguished from any human. I'll take other's word for it and be satisfied that it occured.

    I agree on this one..

    He did look scared though..

No, you really can't. I even questioned its authenticity for a while because of the poor video quality, what appears to be poor conditions with certainly bad lighting, and all the weird jibberish.

I think this was taped with a hidden camera, that's why the quality is so bad. The Iraqi's (to their credit) really didn't want to make a spectacle of this. They wanted a fast, respectful, death and be done with it. I think someone captured it on a small digital camera and sold it to someone.

I liked it for what it was: a crappy recording of a crappy dictator.

Now let's move a similar process to the States. If you're convicted, the appeals process happens, and if your sentence is upheld, you're toast within 30 days. Stop this garbage of three squares a day, gyms, weight rooms, cable TV, and years and years of fiddlef@rting around. :D

    petrym,

I completely agree with you. In my opinion, there is absolutely no reason why anyone on death row should be allowed to sit there for years before they are executed. Before anyone says it, yes, I do believe there are probably innocent people on death row but to allow them to waste our tax dollars taking care of them for year after year is unnacceptable.

I think that is one reason these losers don't care when they get sentenced to death because they know it will be many years before it is carried out, if ever.

not to be gross or anything.. but i don't really know. so you get the door knocked out from underneath ya.. and the rope is not long enough.. and your neck snapps. then what? you suffocate and die? if it's to gross to post in here the details. anyone can PM me. i know that's morbid.

Aren't there a few states that still allow for hangings?
