I've been googling this wire and found the below?
..... CV-6, Absolute Sound's Loudspeaker Cable of the Year, has been changed to CV-8. Same cost, same performance. Type 6 has been changed to Type 8. It is as good or better and no price increase....
Are there any changes/differences in the cv-6 vs. the cv-8?
Not that it matters too much now since I bought the 6 already.
Happy Holidays!
Thanks,
Rich

I think what I found was this cable went from 6 to 8 conductors...is that right?
Well, I only listened to them for about 10 minutes but a very nice improvement over the Audioquest x2 I was using. Sara Mclaughlin - Surfacing (Cv-6 out and back in closet, no wife approval YET!)
On a slightly separate note I spent a good part of the last few days comparing the sound of the analog out from CD player to the onkyo (AQ King Cobra/nordost blue heaven) to the Digital coax out and while there might have been a sonic difference, nothing of note. So now trying to compare nordost blue heaven to the king cobra from onkyo to amp. Blue heaven in now. Previosly had diamondbacks from onkyo to amp.
The CV-6 makes a difference for sure and noticable immediately....FUN! Can't wait to really pour it on with more music.
Will report back more after everything is settled in.

I've got a set of diamond backs sitting around. I currently use the king cobra/cv-6 combo. The diamondbacks sound a bit harsh on the high end.
The cv-6's killed the monster z3's. Much better across the audio range.
I hope to try some kimbers soon."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
I own the Cv-8 and they are amazing. I love em. I also use them with Jaguar IC's which complates the audio chain. I use Jag's from the preamp to amp and from cd to preamp.
The Cv-6 is a 6 conductor and the 8's are a 8 conductor.

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
I'm no audiophile so here is my brief description of the changes after adding the CV-6.
This was a noticeabe difference. No need to sit in the dark and study in silence swithcing back and forth. In fact my wife who generally doesn't care too much about the sound agrees it is improved in 10 seconds of listening.
I'll just say the high end is much clearer but also brighter. The music is "alive" and fresh, instruments have separated a bit giving more detail and space between them. The sound stage increased just a tad. I probably have the most difficult time describing the low end. While I don't think it blossomed or became suddenly tight or defined, I'd just say that it is fuller/richer texturally on the bottom half overall. I have RT800i with Rotel amp and the Onkyo so I realize I have some limitations. I've seen people say the RT and the Onkyo were each bright independently. I believe the Rotel always tamed this somewhat. Maybe it was just the cable holding it back. So now it's slight bright as it should be! ; )
Currently the Nordost are heading to the amp from the onkyo and the King Cobras from the CDP to Onkyo. I'm going to switch to be Diamondbacks from source to Onkyo and King Cobra from Onkyo to amp. I'm not finding changes in sound from source to the onkyo between the cables or digital coax. Seems change are more easily identifiable with changes further upstream in this setup.
I think someone noted the king cobras reduced the brightness compared to the diamondbacks so I'm hopeful that will reign it in a bit.Analog Source: Rega P3-24 Exact 2 w/GT delrin platter & Neo TT-PSU Digital Source: Lumin T2 w/Roon (NUC) DAC: Denafrips Pontus II Phono Preamp: Rega Aria MK3 Preamp: Rogue RP-7 Amp: Pass X150.8 Speakers: Joseph Audio Perspective 2, Audio Physic Tempo Plus Cables: Morrow M4 ICs & Audio Art SC-5 ePlus, Shunyata PCs Misc: Shunyata Hydra Delta D6, VTI rack, GIK acoustic panels -

I agree with less bright, I describe it as sounding more smooth in my system. I didn't think it was harsh before but it's definitetly smoother now. The change to the King Cobras that is.Analog Source: Rega P3-24 Exact 2 w/GT delrin platter & Neo TT-PSU Digital Source: Lumin T2 w/Roon (NUC) DAC: Denafrips Pontus II Phono Preamp: Rega Aria MK3 Preamp: Rogue RP-7 Amp: Pass X150.8 Speakers: Joseph Audio Perspective 2, Audio Physic Tempo Plus Cables: Morrow M4 ICs & Audio Art SC-5 ePlus, Shunyata PCs Misc: Shunyata Hydra Delta D6, VTI rack, GIK acoustic panels
