Hello everyone I firstly want to wish everyone here at -Club polk- a healthy and happy holiday season.
Now in the beginning of this year my osteo arthritis did a number on me and completly destroyed what's left of my right knee and made me physically disabled ,i have gone to many specialist and they won't risk a knee replacement because of the high risk of infection due to my diabetes and risk of amputation,so I had to sell my suv and among other things some of my gear because of medical bills and I have been out of work this past year and my holiday season will not be a pleasant one .

So i am respectfully asking if someone here has an extra replacement tweeter for my rt-400 that blew out and I don't have the $50.00 to replace it since I am living on a fixed income and my SSI is limited ,so if you can help me out it would be greatly appriciated from someone who has a need that loves home theater and is in a tight spot.

So God Bless you guys and Thanks for taking the time for reading my post.:(

Actually, I believe that tweeter is completely oop. No more original and gen 2 trilams (LS and original RT series). You'll need two replacements, and they will be grey silkies from the 3rd gen RTi, ala RTi38, RTi70 etc.

I can refrain from drinking for ONE night to help out also. I'm in for a Hamilton if need be.

Of course, one of those amps or subs you have in your sig will sell here fairly quickly if you wanted to just handle up on it.

    Cheers,
    Russ

You're right, it is a silk dome, but not the cheesy neo jobs in the R series. It's got a ceramic mag structure, and is the same as the RT3 and 5 tweeter.

The part# is BDO116-W and it is a SL 5500 tweeter. I have one, but I think it is bad. The magnet was knocked off thanks to the wonderful packing job by the **** who sold them to me. I epoxied it back on, but it never sounded the same, so I replaced it. The replacement was available at the time and was around $70 (after discount). It is not shown on the list now. A call to CS should veryify if it is still avaliable.

Lou is welcome to the one I have. It works, but it is noticeable that it is not quite right. In a pinch it might be better than the one he has if a new replacement is not available.

DAMN! I just got taken for a semi-busted tweeter that was gathering dust in my basement and $3.50 to ship it to NYC. If only you had posted here sooner to warn me....

swchma - I'm sure you are addressing everyone in this post that offered to help as well. This, I would suppose, would make many happy campers here on the forum to know that someone else thinks they're stupid. That someone else being YOU of course.

Either way, Merry Christmas to you also...

Maybe if everyone that posts spam\scams to the forum looking for someone to buy their products would post a few hundred useful posts first, they may find more customers.

Quite the holiday spirit you have there.... Put a christmas tree up with your reindeer.
