Resistance is supposed to be good on the PS3 however that is really all that it has to offer at this point. The 360 has a huge library now so needless to say there are better games on the Xbox.

PS3 is way overpriced unless you need to have Blu-Ray this instant and you're buying a gaming system for that purpose alone. Wasn't impressed with it, and by all accounts -- every objective video gaming review I have read gives the nod to the 360. *shrug*

It's one of those things where you almost have to wait a year to see what the PS3 has to offer...

just get the 360 now and then get the PS3 when they have better games in a year!!:D

Right now, the 360 is king, no question. Will Sony pull it together? Time will tell.

    360.... why?

Because of certain things... lalalalalala.... I wont say on the forums... lalalalala.... :D......

But, if I had no care for money, I would go PS3.

    X-box 360 Vs PS3

    HD-DVD vs Blu ray

    Who has the better games?

Neither, put this cash towards a good amp(or sub):p.

Do Not, I repeat, Do not make you decision because of blue ray/HD-dvd. In fact, you shouldn't want to use a video game console to play movies period... Wait a year or so to see which comes on top, then buy a seperate hd-dvd/blu-ray player. You really don't want to use a video game console as your movie player, thats not really what they were made for. Of course, this is my opinion, but when I saw the PQ of movies on the ps2... I'll just say its not good enough for most of us dedicated HT owners.

Not true with the XBOX 360. You'll be using a completely seperate player/laser. That was very true for the previous generation consoles, as it was putting extra duty/strain on the transport/laser.

With that said, i did go ahead and buy a Tosh HD DVD player as well as the optional HD-DVD player for the 360...I have 2 HDTVs.

pq on the 360 hd dvd drive is superb. but there is no 1.3 hdmi and no analog 5.1 outputs. but, i wonder if microsoft can fabricate some sort of apperatus that will convert it into either? optical works fine for me. sound output sounds compressed, but micro$oft is waiting to implement the fix for it. playing movies that offer dts via the drive sound amazing. i rented we were soldiers in hd and it sounded awesome!

anyway, i agree with most here. get the 360 now with the hd dvd drive and the ps3 next year, if it proves worthy.

and it's been out longer than the 360. i assume you're supporting sony in general. i'm sure the ps3 will become spectacular. not knocking it. i just have no desire to purchase one anytime soon.

1)this "person" always ask simple short questions just to watch you guys argue.
2)the fact the the PS2 has out sold every game console by ten times is always relivent in a console battle question.
3)the PS3 is not WWAAYY overpriced - i'm still unable to find a single unit on the shelf anywhere.

Bottom line factor for me is Xbox Live. There is nothing that came around in gaming thats better then that. Online play is Incredible. Xbox 360 is a killer machine. The Sony 3 every single demo I have seen, the game system doesn't work. I can't even get to see one going. I have heard from many people there are many problems with the unit and there games are not in the same league as Xbox 360.

I would like to see the system do well as I support both Blue ray and HD DVD. At that price, it's a bargin if the Blue ray is good in it. Sony's Blue Ray player has hit the market and I have already Installed one. It's build like a tank and perfroms very well. I'm Inpressed with it.

My friends brother(complete VG nerd!, yes worse than you guys;) ) just got the ps3 I think for 900. I couldn't believe it when I saw and held the controller... Its exactly like the ps2(and I guess ps1,without analog) controller....but lighter. c'mon sony, can't you be just a little bit original. I guess its ok just naming your system playstation 1,2,3, but having the same controller from 10 years ago... Lets just hope the games don't fall under the same fate(meaning, hopefully they aren't ps2 games with better graphics)

The PS controller is the BEST i have used. If it isn't broken don't recreate it. I would guess that is thier stand. The boomerage controller would have never worked.
Lighter, wireless bluetooth and VR sixaxis - what are they thinking.

I got a ps3 a week agao and it is awesome!!
I have played resistance and it is probly the best war game ever!
I also have Rige Racer 7 and NBA O7 in 1080i looks fantastic!
I do wish there was more games avaliable but at $60 bucks a game I would be broke fast!

The dvd player in it is better than any ( standard ) dvd I have ever seen there is no pausing/skips beteween frames. the picture quality is verry good at 480 but I wish it upconverted like my denon! I cannot comment on audio because I dont have any speakers as of now.

I have only watched MI3 on blue ray and thought it was a bit grainy I will have to try it on regular dvd and see if I notice a diffrence.

I am glad they kept the same style controllers the only change is the l2 and r2 buttons they are like triggers now and being wireless is so cool!

You guys still arguing about this stuff? Geez, just wait a year 'till everything shakes out and the true distinction between the two systems will be obvious. Comparing 2nd gen games on the 360 to ps3 ports and 1st gen games doesn't tell you anything except that developers need time to program for any machine.

I'd stack gears of war against anything the 360 had at release. But who cares? That's not saying much. I think we're finally seeing what the 360 is capable of. That's a good thing. I bought mine, fired up GOW and have been very happy with it. 'Cept of course the vacuum cleaner fan noise the thing makes.

But Sony is just out of the gate. They have firm projections of 2 million shipped by Christmas and since we're already there, we're at about 2 million ps3s in Japan and the US as we type. The 360, with an entire year to spin its wheels unopposed is only at about 6 million. And since you can't find ps3s anywhere for long, the retail price is proving far too low for the present hype. And from reports on this forum, teenage kids, yes, teenage kids are popping for the 60 gig version over the cheaper 20 gig without a second thought. What the heck do these kids need with multimedia readers and 40 extra gigs of hard drive space?

So yeah, the war's on. Blu-ray vs HD-DVD. Ps3 vs 360. But the most important battle of the war won't be for another year when we go into another holiday season. 'Cept this time it's with 2nd/3rd generation games, HD players, HDMI 1.3, lossless audio format decoding preamps and receivers. Can't wait... :D Bring it on baby!!!

At the moment I'm more excited about a Wii for some reason...the goofy controller looks fun to play and I like the idea of the downloadable library. I also don't have the HD tv needed to really make a ps3/360 look good... As far as pointless predictions go - 360 sales will remain solid, however, in the long run, ps3 will out sell it.

I'm tempted to pickup a ps2 one of these days. I've had an xbox for years.
