Hello Everyone.

I recently purchased my first Polk product yesterday - a used set of Polk Monitor 11t. As I understand from reading through this forum (BTW, this is an awesome forum), this speaker is really not a Monitor, but rather an RTA series? Well in any case, I found this set for sale on Craigslist and took a chance on them as I have heard good stories from many Polk owners. I have recently been into bookshelf size speakers, but wanted to get some Towers again.

The "new to me" Polks are mated with my Sony TAN 5550 Amp, Sony CDP-111, and Sony 5150 Tuner. I had no expectations on sound for these so I hooked them up and really like the overall sound. I have much more listening to do before I can really form an opinion. After more research on this great forum today, I also ordered the silk dome tweeter upgrade today, so that should be here next week.

Once again, howdy!!! I look forward to listening to these Polks and benefiting from the vast experience from the folks on this forum. Thanks!

Cheers!
JT

JT, welcome to Club Polk. Did you already place the order for the silk replacement tweeter? if not.. tell them you are a Club Polk member for a discount. it's one of the perks of membership. :D

Congrats on your speakers.. Polk over the years has had many, many good sounding models. If you can, please post a picture of yours. While most of us know what they look like already.. we like vintage Polk pics.

stick around and have some fun. ;)

Yes, I meant to say NO EGGOS! :)

F1Nut, FJ40s are cool! I have always wanted one, have not found the right one yet :)

I'll try to post a few pics of the "new to me" Polk 11ts, I hope these come thru.

The room they are in really isn't that great of room. I am in process of converting a small spare bedroom into a music room. It is definitely small at 12x11, but better than nothing :) I treated 3 walls with double drywall and Green Glue, and one wall with 3 layers of drywall and Green Glue. All of this for sound proofing/isolation of course. I still need to get the the insulated fiberglass panels on the wall....waiting to find the right fabric cover.

    Thanks again!
