    JHC,

Hook up ONE amp. Listen. Once you get the hang of that, if you are not satisfied, maybe try going with a horizontal biamp: (amp powering the highs of each speaker, 1 amp for the bottom).

For now, just get the hang of ONE amp, THEN worry about the rocket science.

And QUIT WITH THE DAMN CAPS LOCK KEY.

I prefer horizontal bi-amp, but that's only because I find the tweeter still a little bit bright, and using identical integrated amps (not pre-amp to two power amps) I set the gain for the tweeters a hair lower than the mids, I couldn't believe how big a difference a margin that small can make.

with your gears, though, I'd suggest you try both first. id place my bet on the vertical method 'coz you can't set the gains separately but you can free up some headroom on the amp by having only one channel each playing lower freqs.

He can't do a vertical bi-amp unless he has the A1 interconnect or he can strap the grounds of the amps. But it's his speakers...

SloCookin, If you have a TFM-55x, Just use it on the 3.1's. That's all the amp you need. You will go deaf before it runs out of power. IMHO.

I have used the carver on a pair of jamo's. The jamos being very efficent (sp?)92 db per 1 watt etc....could take almost all of the carver..i was worried the polks would eat it up. that is why I bought the two adcom's.

Unless the amp was defective, doubtful.

I have installed the rd's. I will give them a mild break in before I make adjustments with bi-amping. I played at very mild volume for about 6 hours and then turned it up. I have found that the adcom gfa 55 mk2 is perhaps less liquid than I would like. I have lent the DNM jumpers to a friend who owns a pair of B&W's to replace his plate connector. He says the sound difference was amazing. So he has placed an order and I should get mine back tonight..more updates to come!

Jumper are now back in place. Sound is better. Less grainy and the smoothness is there. Though I am not as impressed as I thought I might have been. I am finding the mid bass impact and depth staging to be less than anticipated. I will work on roomplacement and cables a little..(nordost and audioquest) I am suprised though...My monitor 10 series 2 are less fussy with placement and so far.....sound better....I belive I will replace all drivers as I have already replaced tweets..I will also order Conpendium 2nd ed soon....next two weeks or so...

Ok. Looking for more advise....The simple fact is I love the monitor 10's. I am going to stay with one amp. I fear I am missing something on the 3.1's though...mid bass punch and depth. I am aware that I will need to order the conpendium from dk..done very soon. However the bigger question is would it be worth it to replace all drivers and possible new crossovers with upgrades..all equipment is fully functional to the best of my knowledge. Compendium will hep in this reguard. If everything is ok....what a let down...any advise????
