I might be done with 360

Shizelbs wrote:Exactly. I'm not blaming Microsoft. Its a problem inherent to making a system this complicating, involving all sorts of hardware, software, online updates, and 3rd party software. Something is just bound to screw up now and then. I am in no way saying PS3 is the answer, I am just getting pretty tired of having to mess around with my 360 just to get it to work. It kind of ruins the fun of it all. Afterall, its not like I don't have other stuff I could be doing.
And Demi is right, I take care of my stuff. Once in a while it will become worlds most expensive coaster, but thats a rarity.
Keep trying. -
Dang, either the 360s are trouble prone or Shizelbs really did run out of luck with two bad boxes. I didn't get an xbox until they came out with the green halo ones and it's never given me any trouble. But my friend with an early one has all sorts of troubles reading disks. I guess it really does help to buy the later versions. I hope one year was enough of a wait for my 360.
*crosses fingers*
I've seen stacks of broken 360s for sale on ebay. Still kind of pricey. But from the trouble some people have had with customer service and warranties seems like getting a stack of dead ones just might be insurance for keeping a live one supplied with spare parts. I couldn't understand why people would buy a stack of dead ones until now. Hope M$ gets its act together. No better way to waste its Christmas opportunity than to not make good on dead systems that crash shortly after warranties expire. -
Maybe what is the worst part of all is that Pimp My Ride is just about to come out. I cannot miss playing that game. F Halo 3, I want to pimp rides.

I'll do it as well. Eff Halo 3 right in Master Chiefs ear. I don't get the hype of that game or any of the others in the series. I'm clearly in the minority. -

Yep, Pimp My Ride will be the best game ever. It will train you how to create an entire car out of Bondo.

I heard Bondo is what Jesus would pimp his ride with, if he couldn't already fly...

Speaking of problems with 360's....a few days ago as my bro was playing gears of war I lifted the 360 from one end as it was laying flat to get a piece of paper from under it when it sounded like someone stuck a straw in the fan. I set it back down as gently as I lifted it and thought nothing about the ordeal except that I thought it was strange that the fan rubbed something..later that afternoon we turned the 360 back on to play gow again and we kept getting disc errors...to our surprise it wasnt the fan rubbing it was the damn DISC it made such a wide deep cut so fast it rendered the $60 game useless! luckily it was just hours old and wally's let us get a new one after we said we just opened it and it didnt work. So at all cost do not lift it or breath on it while it is in use.

I just got a 360 and a PS 3. I've decided to sell the PS 3, without trying it. Seeing that I've got a Tosh HDDVD player and the external HD drive for the 360, it'll just keep from trying to buy both the Blu-Ray movies and the HDDVD movies.
I hope I made the right decision.....we'll see.
As far as durability goes, I'll have to give the nod to the Gamecube. We have all three of the last gen consoles and it has been through the most abuse by the kids, BY FAR. That little sucker has been knocked off the table countless times and has never had a single issue, other than one of the controllers got stepped on and lost a trigger."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

Wow, it's sad to hear that there seems to be so much trouble with the reliability of today's consoles. I guess I'm stuck in the past.
I have (yes, that's present tense) a Sega Genesis, Sega Game Gear, Super Nintendo, Game Boy Color, Playstation, and a Playstation 2. I've never had any problem with any of them. I can't say that I've ever gotten 'launch units', but I always got them at least within a year of their launch, and I've never had any issues with anything.
Well, I did that have big, over-the-shoulder-gun shooting game for Super Nintendo that gave up the ghost pretty early.
But everything else is still going strong.George Grand wrote: »

the warranty is retro-active for those who have spent money on repairs for their 360's if work done was within one year of purchase date. they'll give reimbursement for the expenses. too bad they were 'forced' into action vs. doing so because they care about the consumer. the pressure is on due to the other consoles being available now. you know, three months was sort of a joke, eh?

Ya think. The only reason they had a 3 month warranty is so they could sell more of their extended warranties.
