here goes probally one of the dumbest posts ever lol. could a fellow use 8 drivers from the lsi series in lieu of the ones there now in a sda srs 1.2tl and if so would be a step up and sound nicer or? REGARDS SNOW
Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

There's nothing wrong with the drivers in your SDA's. Many believe doped paper drivers have a more natural sound. If you want to improve the overall sound from your SDA's, upgrade the crossovers.

Just switching drivers without any analytical work is always a bad idea because the electrical and mechanical parameters of a driver must be compatible with both the crossover circuit and with the other drivers.

Drivers of the same impedance and physical size may have widely varying sonic and electrical performance characteristics. A lot of people don't think of it this way, but the drivers in a loudspeaker are actually electrical components in an electric circuit. As such, any changes to the circuit's components must be made with regard to maintaining or improving performance.

The LSi line uses 5.25 inch drivers instead of the 6.5 inch used in SDAs as another reason to not try it.
