New SDA1-B owner

Hello I am new to this forum. This site is great and I am learning a lot. Thanks. I have recently renewed my Carver and Polk enthusiast status after inheriting my Father's TFM-15 and Polk RTA-11t' speakers. It has been a true learning and healing process. There must be a strong genetic component because now that I am back in the audio enthusiast mode full force the upgrade/modify bug is biting hard too. I just bought a pair of SDA-1B's locally. Another evolutionary listening experience!
I need help in purchasing the SDA Compendium(I am unable to PM as a new forum member)and advice on any modifications for these speakers would be appreciated. I look forward to your help. Thanks again.

    hey there, and welcome to the forum. good to see more vintage Polk Fans.

    I had the SDA1B myself, and while I sold them, I do miss those things. They were a particular crowd favorite as well, always garnering accolades to those who listened to them.

    you got the sda interconnect right? also, if they dont have it allready, look into the silk dome replacements for the sl2000 tweeter. Enjoy them for a little while as is, but then upgrade the tweeter (available from Polk customer service)

    I had mine powered by my Carver m4.0t amp, and while there are a few Carver haters here, there are some who like the combo (I am one of them).

    Have fun with those speakers. oh, I believe the guy who did the compendium is Darqueknight, and I'm sure he'll see this thread soon enough to help you get your hands on a compendium. lots of technical knowlege for the guy who likes to tweak. lots of cool general information too from what little I read of it at polkfest.

    Welcome to the forum. The 1B's were the first SDA's I owned.

    You can find a lot of modification information by using the advanced search function. Here are some example keywords:

    "improvements to the srs"
    improved sda interconnect cables"
    "sda modification"

    Thanks for the quick response and the for search tip. I just noticed that the search engine appears to be case sensitive. Payment sent with mailing address.

    I never noticed any case sensitivity with the search function.

    Searching on either "sda modification" gives me the same results as "SDA Modification".

    Your Compendium was shipped this afternoon. I sent a PM with the tracking number. Thanks.
