You are correct! It is only ground up meat that they tell you is dangerous. And to sanitize EVERYTHING when handling poultry!

Other than the vocal warning, I've never had a restaurant refuse a Pittsburgh style steak. Neither have I ever become sick from eating less than medium beef.
I've ordered bloody rare 2/3 lb. burgers from Fudruckers and they never mention ecoli or saminela or his brother salminela.:DMarantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -

Cath, I perfer to think luck has nothing to do with it.:D
I don't however want to get too cocky about it because in the blink of an eye a small bite of bad meat can knock even the most stout of us out of commision for a week. Plus I don't drink alcohol (mmmmm a very dry Bombay Saphire martini and beef) anymore so the germs aren't being killed off. LOL -
Nice restaurants will usually be willing to cook a rare steak. Good luck getting most chains to do so though. I know the 99 Restaurant won't even go below "Medium".If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
