Do I risk it?

Just found these on eBay... I don't think he has a website. They would match very well with the rest of my setup, but I just don't know...

I blew up the pictures on his website. From the part numbers on two of the speaker boxes, I found them at parts express. The opening bid price appears to be worth it, from a parts cost and labor standpoint.
Whether he picked a good combination of drivers that sound good, I leave for you to decide.
Whether he is a legit seller, I leave that for you also to decide.

nope, i wouldn't. I want a retailer that i have confidence will back the warranty of their product.

Hmmm...
It's still a toss-up for me. I would also rather purchase from a respected brand, ideally from a retailer, but I just don't have that kind of money with my expensive taste.
Listed here, it says these speakers can reach 17Hz. That's pretty dang low, considering I can't even hear that...

Forget about it.
There's no way in hell those speakers go down to 17 Hz. Most subs can't do that. So that's either a typo or this guy is lying.
He basically took some Parts Express designs, parts, stands, and cabinets, and is selling them to people who don't know what they're buying.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

That was kind of my thought too. I don't think my Polk sub even went to 30hz when I had it.. lol

i would stay away from these speakers....buy from a trusted brand....these are parts express speakers all the way....they may sound good...who knows????....but, i wouldn't take the chanceYamaha RX-V2600

If possible would you be able to build something yourself. You won't be able to beat the bang for the buck with commercially available speakers. Could solve the expensive taste with a low budget problem. As long as you have patience and don't rush the job I think anybody can make average looking speakers.

Bingo. I would have to hear these. The 17 Hz **** is just that. You need a big **** IB or TL to dig that low.
He does claim to be using their better quality parts, but how much design went into it?
I do like the tweeter's enclosures, though. Pretty snazzy, kinda reminds me of B&W's. I wonder where he got them from. -
They look pretty, but so did I at one time.:D
