for the life of me, I cant figure out people's fascination with asking the same 2 questins when you are selling an item

1) is this item still available? to which you respond yes, and then you hear nothing. if it hapenned once, you can just chaulk it up to circumstance. but i have literally had no less than 25 people asking me this question on the Sopia Baby amp i am selling. same respone, NOTHING. for christ sakes, why ask?!?!!?!

2) What is the lowest prie you will sell this item for? Hmmm, guess I shouldnt complain, I mean why should I feel I garner enough respect to actually have an offer? perhaps if you bypass the whole negotiation process, i will send you this item for the low price of 20.00 and a dunkin donuts coupon for a f&kin coffee coolata!!!! @sshole!!

So I recently posed this item on Ebay, and got someone o buy it for th buy it now option of 375.00 of course i am worried, since this guy has 0 feedback and just joined ebay 5 days ago. so I have a feeling that aint cominh through, which begs the question, why click buy it now IF YOUR NOT BUYING THE GODDAMN ITEM?!?!?!?!?!?

shouldnt rant about the ebay thing, I guess I should say shame on me for not blocking 0 feedback buyers, and its only been a day since he took the buy it now option. I sent him an invoice this morning. we'll see what happens.

What do people have to benefit by doing crap like this, am I missing somthing?

Yep, welcome to online selling. I hate selling stuff via those types of sites.

As for the buy it now options, you can choose when creating the auction that if they select buy it now, they must pay that second. Makes life easier, esp if you only accept paypal.

Sheesh... i hear ya. I nearly cringe whenever i sell something by auction these days. I've nearly stopped selling altogether now. To many scams out there. I enjoy selling, but man sometimes it's not worth the hassle anymore.

I think this year i've only bought/sold about 6 items using ebay. that's about 1/4 of what i normally do per year.

Good luck... hope things work out for ya.

Is the item still available? And, what's the lowest price you will take for it? :D

Audigon, since it mainly houses direct sales, has always had the "is it still available" issue--since many sellers don't bother changing the status, or the description line, after an item sells. But, I'm with you Lou: why ask if you don't follow-up on the response? I usually phrase my inquiries as "if the item is still available, I'll take it at your price, or I'll offer x dollars if still available." That only requires one response from the seller to get a deal going.

Just imagine if you had to sell your item in an actual store -- people would put their hands all over it, fondle your tubes, ask a bunch of stupid questions, and walk out with no intention whatsoever of buying it. At least via audiogoons or e-nay, you only have to deal with a few words in an e-mail.

BTW -- I always insist on immediate payment via PayPal when selling on ebay. Same is true for audiogon. I don't hold items for anyone or even accept money orders unless I talk to the buyer personally and he has a good feedback record. In return, I promptly ship their item and provide a tracking number.

hey, I'll still sell stuff, but its just silly to me the way people act. so far I have heard nothing from the buy it now guy. but an audiogoner said he would take it for 350.00 (didnt clarify if that was shipped, probably would do it just to get this done) Both the ebay and audiogon have asian names, knowing my luck, there the same guy and he purposly locked up my ebay listeng to low ball me on the audiogon listing

he originally wrote me the "how low will you go" email, I responded I wont go below asking price unless a solid offer is made. He came back with 350.00, hey, at least he didnt give me an insult offer. I'll say this, if a polkie gives me 325.00 shipped, its theres. rather hook someone up here than play games elsewhere.

    1. They're just "window shopping". Everybody likes to dream.
    2. They are really interested in your item, but they have to see if they can scrape enough pennies together to afford it. They want to know if the item is still available before they go and sell 5 pints of their blood.
    3. They have to ask their wife or significant other for approval. They know that the most likely answer will be "NOOOOOOO". They want to know if the item is still available before they drum up enough courage to ask permission.

I usually just ignore these. If I feel like some amusement, I will respond with "What is the most you will pay?.

Why do people go to jewelry stores and luxury car dealerships, tie up the salesperson's time, all the while knowing that they can't afford the paper that the item's price is printed on? See my answer #1 to your question #1.

Actually, the tire kickers, dreamers, compulsive shoppers, and low ballers don't irk me (that much). I understand that it comes with the territory. What really irritates me are the lazy idiots who ask questions that are clearly answered in the ad and/or ask if I have pictures of the item when all he/she had to do was scroll down to the end of my ad to see the pictures. I just ask them to go back and read the ad. I go to a lot of effort to write detailed ads which include multiple clear pictures of the actual item.

no word on the Ebay buy it now. I sent him a message saying I am reporting it unpaid as soon as possible, which I just found out is 7 days.

emailed the Audiogon guy that I am changing my mind and not selling it. Really sure this guy and whever clicked the buy it now are working together. screw them, I'll keep the amp. I know 50.00 bucks aint much, but I dont like how they did it. I'll give it to the homeless to buy crack before I sell it to them jerkoffs for 350.00.

man I'm in a bad mood.

learned my lesson though, from now on, all 0 feedback buyers will be blocked.
