Potential Challengers for the FAP

Give me some suggestions for challengers in the Favorite Actress Poll (FAP). They would go head to head against our reigning champion, currently Mira Sorvino. Be sure to vote in this week's poll.

    Troy, you're a sick sick man. But you know? I was scrolling down the page, looking at the pictures (before I got to your post), and I was thinking the same damned thing!

    Hmmm.

    Sela Ward would win any contest hands down, so I would not use her (in a poll). The good thing about the Mira/J.Lo contest (see posted poll) is that it's really a toss up. Mira is a cutie, with loads of curves and a nice, you know... J.Lo, well I believe that the jury is still out as to whether or not she's actually really "hot." Especially since the crowd she hangs wit' is a definite turn off.

    I voted for J.Lo tho cause she's sort of exotic and I'm just a boring white guy, so that's sort of a turn on. (Plus, I grew up on LI with a bunch of "jappy" Italian chicks like Mira, so I don't know if I could take that. Her dad is Big Paulie, after all.)

    Sela is just sooooo hot. I am steadfastly loyal to my wife but if given the opportunity......I would chloroform her in a heartbeat.

    Any chance of her doing some Polk Audio advertisements??? Now there is an idea.

    My Polk ad starring Sela Ward:

    Open on an average Joe's living room; he's watching a movie on his TV alone on the couch in the semi-dark. Suddenly, Sela Ward, in black leather, drops from the ceiling on that harness from "Mission Impossible," the one she used in that Sprint commercial. The guy is, understandably, startled. But Sela calms him by explaining, while she's hanging from the ceiling, as the camera angle changes dramatically with each phrase of her speech, how a home theater speaker system from Polk Audio would enhance his movie-watching experience ("How about sports?" he asks timidly. "It puts you in the center of the action," she replies suavely) and make him the envy of the neighborhood. With that, she swings back up into the dark ceiling, and the guy sits nodding in the blue TV light, cut to beauty shot of product, as Sela's voice in a voice-over says, "Home theater by The Speaker Specialists, Polk Audio. It gets surround."

    Okay, the sex scene in "Wild Things" is definitely a keeper. But... She's a zero, man. She's a nothing, she's got nothing; no style, no presence, nothing but... Well, nothing but ya know. And, ya know. She is horrible in that Bond flick, even worse than Brosnan.

    And while I'm no giant fan of Charlize, she is attractive in a tall girl kind of way. Kinda like Ashley Judd.

    But all these girls you're mentioning are single date material compared to Sela. Sela is marriage material. Sela is classy and mysterious. She's got style. Check her in the opening scenes of "The Fugitive," the scenes where she's chatting at the hospital fund raiser before they leave. She is total class. And so intelligent and stylish it puts all these other chicks to shame.

    You can make a case for practically anyone, especially considering we're never ever going to ever meet these femmes. But there are girls, and then there are women. Get it straight.

    Presence on the screen? Presence where it counts? None of that **** matters. The only thing that counts is if she's stupid enough to GRACE you with her presence. The only presence that matters.

    Okay guys, my fault I'm going to have to establish some criteria for the nominations. I have to say, and it pains me to say it, but I agree with Micah on this one. I think Sela Ward vs J-Lo or Mira would be a lopsided contest. The potential challengers probably shouldn't be leading lady material, hence I think Charlize would be a good choice.

    I am totally goofing up here, thinking of the wrong chicks! I am leading you all astray.

    Clicking on those JPEGs up there -- of the Cruz and Shannon chicks -- set me straight... I can't even TYPE now! I was thinking "Shannon Elizabeth" was that girl from, what, "90210" or "Mall Rats" or something -- who was that?

    The girl from the strip scene in "American Pie" is total choice. Unbelieveable. Who knew that such beauty existed on our planet. Take me to your leader.

    And the Cruz girl? What the hell can I see her in? What movie is she from?

    Help me here, I've fallen behind and can't get... Well, you know. Who is this new girl?
