It's kinda like that spot between the mattress and the boxspring, but a bank takes a cut every time you want to take some money out of it (unlike the mattress).

Well, I think I'll just stick with my account with 'Sealy' Banking, then. :p

Unless it's a classic, no car is a good investment. Fixing up a car, truck, boat, 4x4, moped is something that should be done for the fun of it, not as a money making proposition. If you can't afford to do it, don't. Kinda like audio.

    Exactly.

I definitely realize cars are a poor 'investment'. I can see that. Dad's certainly learned it the hard way...and he's told me several times.

But, the allure is just too great. They're irresistable.

And as a side note...I think I could get excited about driving the Jetta. But I could get excited about keeping the Jeep, too. Maybe I've been looking at this wrong. Maybe it's not a dilemma; maybe it's just a win-win situation.

I'd take the Jetta. If you're getting that much above blue book, its really a no-brainer for me. Theres always going to be the love for your first car, but the Jetta is a reliable car that likely isnt going to crap out on you soon.

    But then again, thats me

Well, that nullifies everything you just said. :p;)

I'm really beginning to get excited at the prospect of driving the Jetta. But seeing as how this isn't a done deal yet, I'm trying not to get too excited.

That market is starting to change too. Unless you have a numbers matching car that has special options (or find a way to get it on barrett jackson) You could spend more building then you can sell it for. Chevelle SS396's are selling for 20,000 again. if it starts out as a basket case, your going to sink more then that into the rebuild.
