I wonder how they sound compared to the Taylos. Hmmmm.
Yeah, Hmmmmm. You keep comparing things to the Taylos do ya? Even just a couple of months ago you were making the same comparisons, saying the same thing. In fact, I would almost bet that if the windows on your pad weren't replaced along with the basement being refinished........you'd have a pair sitting in your house right now.

    Now don't lie Brad, don't lie. :p:D

Oh, I just hate it when I'm right!

He's trying to think up a good excuse now. Give him time, he'll think of something witty. [maybe] :D

Actually, I compared the Taylo 7U's to the VMPS' a while back in the same room with the same equipment and the sound was almost identical, IMO. I thought the Taylos would spank the VMPS' in detail and clarity, but they didn't. I was also amazed that the 7U's had as much bass, if not more, than the VMPS'. That's when I realized that the VMPS' don't go as low as I originally thought.

Man I wish I heard what you did.

The difference between the 7u and the VMPS with my associated gear was tremendous. It wasn't even a worthy comparison.

YMMV of course. Glad you are happy.

Ahhh, I finally figured out Cathy's dilemma. She's afraid to replace her old **** speakers 'cause she knows it'll take her system to a completely higher level altogether, and she'll get the upgrade bug like everybody else.

Yeah, that's right -- and you can tell her I said it.

Well, I read your assessment of the VMPS' vs. 7U's as you kinda flip-flopped, so I couldn't tell where you stood on the issue. Don't make me dig up your old posts to prove it, fella.;)

I dunno Early, when you go back to 2-channel I'm stickin' with everybody else in the fact that we don't believe ya'. This ain't gonna be your last pair. ;)

BTW, nice out. You should be a politician.

Huh? Go back to 2-channel? Forget it. Not a chance.

On a totally unrelated topic, I already ordered a 2-channel amp and I got a "pseudo pre" on the way.:p But the speakers stay.

The VMPS sounded ok... had an extremely detailed high end, zero midrange and almost to much bass...

I tried every knob on that speaker, tilt, toe in, toe out, whatever..

Just couldnt get it to work...

Well, you forced my hand. Re-read your own threads. Didn't I say flip-flop?

    http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59701&highlight=VMPS+Tower

And this quote from the thread where you were selling them:

Well to be honest with ya.. LOL

I bought them because Brad said they were better than mine...

They arn't exactly worse -- they are different, which isnt exactly my kind of sound...

They are so accurate, to me is almost sounds unreal ---

they are the BEST speaker I've ever heard for low volumes, late night listening --

The detail they bring to the table is absolutely unbelieveable, the bass even at low volumes has a kick to it..

Hard to describe -- it will knock ya out as far as detail and bass goes... pretty good mids to boot

But those Taylos are my baby's... hahahha

Im not going to get into this to much, I'm glad you like them. All I will say is...

The Taylos are here. The VMPS were unloaded for next to nothing.

I'm glad you like them... but that post you quoted may have a bit of me wanting to like them after driving 9 hours and spending 7-800 bucks on them (after gas)...

    EDIT --

They are very detailed speakers, just not my cup of tea...

Well, Sid -- if it's any consolation, I probably would have chosen the 7U's over the TII's, as well.
