I agree with Msalla. Now that you are happy with the Rti6s, sit back patiently and wait for some Rti8's or Rti10's to pop up at an awesome price. Go used if they are in good shape. If you're patient, you can get tower fronts for about the same as you spent on the bookshelves.

I was in your position last year (going from a dated HTIB) and bought blindly without knowing about this forum. I've still got the monitor setup (the 1/2 off T90s from Tweeter) but have now built a 2-channel rig (work in progress) and added several amps to my setup. The sub I have would be around the lower end SVS subs. You need to get yourself a good sub when you have the scrilla. It will greatly improve your HT sound, especially if you're keeping the 6's up front.

Nothing like a good sub for HT.

I'd also like to see what you liked / didn't like about the T90ebs. With good amplification, I actually like mine quite a bit, but I'm still a noob :)

Congrats Lof!!! I'm glad everything worked out including the wife liking your new system as well.

I agree with Msalla as well. When you are ready, get the RTI 8's or 10's for the front & move the 6's to the back!

I stayed away from recommending the 10's because they should be run with an outside amp to be worth having. I didn't know if he wanted to go that route. They would be great though.

    And the verdict IS:
    Rti6 at Tweeter for $350
    CSI3 Center for $150
Yamaha reciever w/ preouts 90 watts per
Yes, ..... the PSW sub is still in the box and awaiting sale if anyone wants it --cheap! 80hz is the low I believe.
I originally brought home the T90's [like the Monitor 60's I guess].. took them back the next day. Didn't like the sound at all. We love the RTI6's. My WIFE wall mounted them about 6' on the wall on either side of the 108" screen,,, they stick out obviously but man, what a nice sound for 15' x 15' room. All Monster cables, 14 guage wiring without the banana clips which I am going to get later.....
The rears are nothing special [small Panasonic] but do so-so once I adjusted the levels.
I am very appreciative of you all. At this point, I will get some decent rears later and looking for input on SUBS now.
If any one has any suggestions, please let me know.
Tweeter was good and glad I could do "small" bartering with a salesman that I trusted who has worked there for 3 yrs. Was never pushy at all and agreed with everything that I learned from you all. The prices where pretty good and they even cut me deals on each item even the cables [buy 1 get 1]
    Inputs / Slams ??
    Thanks :)
    lofmarks

Which Yamaha receiver did you get. I went that Friday to the Tweeter in Mt. P planning to get the RX-V659, and I ended up talking myself into the RX-V2500. (More watts) I ended up getting RTi4s and Monitor 30s from Crutchfield along with the PSW303 sub. I also got an open box Yamaha C750 DVD player for $150, but I going to have to take it back becuase the component vid outs don't work properly.

Did you get the Rx-V2500 for the 499.00 sale price? I bought mine a month or two ago and was pissed when I saw the sale (but the salesman threw in the 5 year warrenty for free so I still made out)

Yeah, it was tweeter's Black Friday sale and they had it knocked down to $499. I couldn't pass it up. Seemed like too good of a deal. Plus South Carolina was running a no sales tax deal that day.
