Omnimount 20.0 RST

I discovered today that I can't use the Btech BT77 bracket for my right rear speaker because I don't have enough room.

Can I use the Omnimount 20.0 RST bracket to mount the RTi28? It looks like it could attach to the hole on the plate on the back of the speaker. I'm not so sure of the security of this attachment though. Polk's website says the bracket will hold 15 pounds and the speaker weighs 14.

    Hello,
I don't recommend using the wall mounting bracket, on the speakers, in that way. The bracket could break where you are attaching the OmniMount arm. Instead use the supplied mounting plate included with the OmniMount bracket. I believe they give you wood screws and drill bit to drill pilot holes to mount the plate. This will give you a threaded insert to attach the mounting arm. You can drill into just about any area of the speaker except where the input cup is.
    Regards, Ken

Thanks Ken. I must meditate on this solution or something. I don't know if I can bring myself to drill holes in my Polks!

    Hello,
I understand, but keep in mind there are already many holes in the speaker's cabinet. Just think of yourself as the next guy in the assembly line. Your job is to install the threaded mounting plate, then do an overall examination and pass it to the next person.
    Take care, Ken

Thanks Ken. I got over it and ordered one last night.
