I-Sonic speaker hiss wth Aux input

I have searched the forum but have seen nothing about I-Sonic speaker hiss. Anyway, I have had this for about a month, and I am finally getting around around to testing the Aux input. When I select Aux from the I-Sonc menu, I get a noticable hiss from the speakers as if the volume is pumped way up. The hiss does not change volume regardless of volume setting.
I am going to be using that input for the sound out of a TV and I will go crazy if I can't get this worked out.
Thanks for any help.
Brian

Does it still hiss if nothing is plugged into the aux input?

Have you actually plugged anything IN to the input and tried it yet?Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

With nothing plugged in I get the hiss. I did try as a test to plug an iPod in to Aux 1 and it was still there.
It is more of a background white noise type hiss.
Thanks for the help. -
Could you try the other aux input (aux 2) and see if there's the same hiss? Do you notice the hiss if you turn the volume to 1 on the radio?Brian Knauss

I posted a question on 10/7/2006 about the same hissing issue. Mine happens when playing DVD's. It seems to get worse the longer the DVD plays. Could it be heat related? The DVD does seem to be hot when removed from the iSonic.

I have similar problem with i-sonic ES2 - there is a fairly severe hum when the AUX port is connected to an HDTV mounted directly above the radio. Here are the circumstances and some of my findings:
- the TV's analog audio output is connected to the AUX input of the radio with shielded cable with RCA plugs
- the hum is present whether TV is turned on or off, as long as audio cable is connected
- hum starts around mid-level volume and increases with volume
- there is no hum when the AUX cable is disconnected from the TV, but connected to the radio
- when an iPod is in the dock, and the source is set to iPod, the sound is perfect (no hum)
- when the same iPod is connected via audio cables to the AUX input of the radio and the source is set to AUX, the sound is perfect (no hum)
- both TV and radio AC power are plugged into same receptacle
I have been suspecting a ground loop, especially since the isonic has a power cube. Is it possible that the chassis of the isonic is not adequately grounded? Any thoughts?
Thanks -
One more piece of information to add to post #8:
- when attaching a headphone to analog output of TV (same source as the AUX input to the radio), there is no hum
