mild humming from sub

I have been noticing a mild humming fro my sub....I have upgraded my sub cable to the monster brand and the humming did stop for a while but has started again
any ideas

    try jiggling the cable in the back of the amp, see if there is any changes. if there is, its a connection issue, probably at the plate amp.

    my money though would be at a ground loop. a quick way to diagnose it is to take a cheater beater plug (what you would use to make a 3 prong plug [ground] fit into an older 2 prong outlet [without ground]). just plug the sub into the cheater beater and the cheater beater with sub plug attached to the wal. if the humming goes away, it a ground loop.

    I still use a cheater beater for my sub since no matter how i arrange my cables, the damn humming wont go away.
