I see you're back on the forum. So what happened with the Vifa tweeter retrofit??? I was interested before, but I never heard back. I want details!

I posted pictures after my replacement but it didn't seem as though anyone was interested so I figured why go to the trouble. If you go back and do a search for HUNTER under opinion forum (Ultimate polk based center channel) you will see the pics.
In my opinion they sound great. I noticed that the new sound was very smooth and not at all harsh like the tri-lams. I have been using them for months now and couldn't be happier. The only other mod I did to them was to change the green leds to blue which looks pretty cool. I decided not to post anymore about my mods because of the few guys that cause problems.

    Thanks for asking

What about the center? Were you able to finish it and get the results you wanted?

Geez, I even responded to that picture. I totally forget. In my response I asked how it sounded, but you never replied. So, at least I was interested. So aside from the smoothness, what else have you noticed in sound quality? Are the speakers more detailed? What did you have to do to make the tweeter work? Did you have to modify the cabinet and crossover?

I have not worked on the center channel yet. I started collecting the parts to start it, ie. amp and ring dome tweeter and then found a deal on a second pair of rt3000ps for 500.00. I am now contemplating using the pair laid horizontal on top of the TV as the center channel. I see some problems with doing this but I haven't found the time to put much effort into it recently.

Ring 'radiator' tweeter? Laying a pair on their side on top of TV?

Amazing how time changes little, for some things anyway....

Good on ya Hunter, can't wait to see the pics......

Its not that easy. My 60" mits is built into a wall with about seven inchs between it and the load bearing header which I built to place my old cs245i in so to do this I would have to raise the header. I can't place one on the floor in front of the TV because the TV is flush with the wall with drywall in front of the old TV speakers so a large speaker such as these will stick out 18" and be in the way. I will eventually find the time to raise the header but I have kind of lost intrest in tweaking the system so its not a priority.

You know I need a new set of mains, and I bet you would like a greeting card for every holiday. Plus your birthday. We can work together on this I know we can;)

    Brian,
I can remember at one time during the height of my obsession with home theater having the following speakers sitting in my garage:
    2 r40s
    2 rt800I
    4 rt3000p
    1 cs400i
    2 cs245i
    1 psw450
I have sold all but the one cs245i that I am using as an iterum center and the two pair of rt3000ps.
I am keeping the 3000s because in my opinion I don't think that there is a better tower around, other than the SRTs that can do what these can do for music and HT. I can't see a future upgrade for these beasts but time will tell.

    Thanks for the offer though!
