....why I decided to part with a certain item in the FM today as it isn't any of your business really. However, since some of you can't seem to mind your own effing business I will say this, the money isn't going into my pocket. Thanks for all your help.

Had you said that earlier, there might not have so much of a fuss.

Most likely it was the XM tuner I saw listed there yesterday. I chose to keep my nose out of it and ignore the thread, though there were no replys to it when I saw it. I was unaware anything went down there.

Exactly. That thread was an "easy target"...you should have seen it coming...

Had you mentioned it was for some great cause (or whatever...), it would have probably sold.

Bottom line, XM's are meant to be used, not cherished. I have fond memories of receiving mine at polkfest that will last a lifetime. That was a gift from the heart and it was intended to be used. Sometimes the two ideas are hard to get your arms around as my boss would say. They are two different actions and need to be dealt with as two different actions. The item itself has no personality of its own to consider.

Better to sell it to another Polkie than EBAY it. I can't see the problem with that. That's what we do with the special HF-1 headphones built for Headfi'ers.
As long as another one of the intended members get it, who cares.

Do as you see fit. You have no use for it, I'm sure they's rather see some one use it than sit in your garage.

I have no pull around here, but I can't see the harm in selling something one got for free. I'm assuming this was a Polkfest raffle prize. If you don't have a use for it, why not sell it? The idea was you get something for free. Yours, to do what you like. I won a pair of Klipsch in walls at a silent auction for charity. I knew ahead of time they had to be worth more than my bid (and I didn't want Klipsch.) I took them home and promptly sold them to a guy who was thrilled to still get them, brand new, for less than what they normally sell for on the 'Bay. Turns out he needed them for his churches remodel, so things worked out all the way around. I got a good deal and he still got a better deal than otherwise possible.

Who cares if Jman puts the money in his pocket or not? Gear doesn't grow on trees, and neither does upgrading. My two cents...

when we initially got the XM tuners, I remember it being mentioned amongst ourselves that it would be considerred poor form to see them on ebay or what not, especially right after the fest en masse. However, after time passes, it becomes far less poor form, as over time it becomes a genuine piece of your property to do with as you wish, not just a gift you got a day ago.

I didnt see the post in question at all, looks like I missed some fun, dammit I allways MISS that ****!!!!

anyway, sold to a polkie, and under what seems to be a special circumstance. cross that with what F1 contributes, I aint losing too much sleep.

Jesse, how about offering the modded Jolida cd player as karma for the horrible crime of selling your XM Tuner:)

This was very simple.....Jesse was quick in jumping on anyone that showed any intention of buying/selling that tuner back then when it was a "hot" subject...so, he just got a bit of his own medicine back...in my case, as I specifically said on the missing thread...I just could not resist it (as I'm sure would have happened to others that didn't have the chance to see that thread).

He got his flame as many others have and will continue having...that's it; no big deal as I see it.

I didn't sell it here and won't because I'm disgusted with all the BS that was polluting the "for sale" thread. For the same reason, I asked that the thread be deleted. I don't need to be reminded of what I said over a year ago, I know what I said. I did expect folks to let it slide as they and I did with a few others that sold their tuner here. Like I said, things change, roll with it.

Nothing else to see here, let's move on.
