I had a 5.1 setup. I just added some fxi3's and made them my sides and moved m10's to the rears. I cant get audio out of the rears(m10s). The wiring is correct, my receiver is a pioneer elite vsx-52tx. There are a few settings the manual says I have to change to get the audio to be 7.1. So far I changed "extended mode" on-per the manual, also I changed the "surround back" to "normal"-per the manual, then I changed the speaker settings to show the speakers as "large" or "small"-per the manual, last I changed the speakers to have the same audio out of speakers "a"-5.1 and "b"-for 7.1-"a" and "b" show up on the receiver. Still no audio out of the rears, I'm to loose my mind. Anyone know what I'm about missing?

if you perform the level test built into your avr does any sound come out of the speakers? you do not have a zone 2 set up do you? (many avrs limit your primary sound to 5.1 when you have a zone configured (or at least playing))
just a thought...
michaelMains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms) -
My old Pioneer VSX-37tx supported 7.1 but only if you added a seperate 2 channel amp for the rear channels. Something to look at.

Nevermind, yours is a 7 channel receiver.

Perform a level cal test pattern. First thing you do when your reconfiguring. If you have no test tones in the rear speakers than back to the drawing board. Something in the menu. Onkyo's have a ALL Channel setting - makes it real easy to know which speakers are working............

Doesn't the VSX52 have a MCACC setting? Run the utility from the setup menu (Connect the receiver to one of your TV inputs) and have the auto calibration test the rear speakers. I have a VSX72TXV and had a similiar problem with 6.1 setup. It turns out that a previous user had calibrated the setup to be stereo only and running the MCACC setup corrected the problem.

On lower end Onkyo's, if you select "A/B" for speakers, the audio heads south
as far as HT goes.Sal Palooza
