As always, you make sound judgement, Sean. I told my buddy about the offer (he heard the Sophia at the same dealer and has listened to my Summits numerous times)... he told me it's not a good move as he prefers the Summit by a margin.

Keep what you have and keep your eyes on the Prize....Stradavari.
"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Holy mother of macaroni... I just soiled myself.

Ok... so at $40K..... I would have to save up about $5K each year I'm in residency...

That would add up to be about ~$15K. Then when I have a real job, I would have to save another $25K the first year.... so that adds up to be about $40K.

Sell the Summits and all my gear.... that will be about $5K by then. Use that $5K + $10K more in savings spread over several months... for amps and stuff.

    Hoooo... that's a doozy.

Unless I can score a used Strad.... which is about $20K....

I'll score that and it's gold... easier to manage.

I love dreaming about gear that I cant afford.

Gah.... words DO NOT describe my friend... words just arent sufficient enough at this time.

It will be my Statement product, God willing.

I may have to scale back on the car aspirations for the moment.

Alright.... I guess the BMW M6 will have to wait. I suppose a 645 will have to do.

    Damn it.

I voted for "consider the trade". I don't really want to comment because this is big money you're dealing with. Go give them a demo.

I personally say...demo them! But don't trade. As you said, it'd be a huge hassle moving them into your apartment, then trying to move them from room to room or even just position to position would be a bear with the Wilson, whereas it's manageable with yours.

Besides, as others have pointed out, it's seems to be more of a lateral move.

I'm still not keen on the almost 200lb speaker.... it's gonna be so freaking hard to move around.

I like my Summits... only 80lbs... easy to move.

And I weightlift too! Geez... 200lbs is a bear to move considering there's really nothing to hold onto and you want to keep your body away from it since things like buttons or belt buckles can scratch the finish.

I mean... sure... I can dumbell press 100lb dumbbells on each hand and I can shrug 400lbs.... but 200lbs per speaker is unreal to move around.

    Booo...

As for the trade Joey, don't.Lateral move at best.I have heard them and wasn't that impressed.Your the only guy I know with 10 grand computer speakers.Keep in mind the sophia is gonna need a better amp to really shine and being in school, chaseing hot chicks, cash for a better amp doesn't fit in.Be happy with what you have ,you do have a nice set-up pal.

Sounds good. Let us know how the demo goes.

Don't Wilson speakers come with detachable wheels to help with set up?

I can't do the trade atm, I'm happy with the Summits and I am focusing on a whole new front end preamp and amplification upgrade that should bring me that much closer to nirvana... atleast audio nirvana.

Thanks all for participating in my poll.
