Hey Millerman, did I tell you that I've been speaking with Ron and I think I'm going to be adding a second PB12-Plus/2. Comments from Ron were as follows:

"Adding a second PB12-Plus/2 will give you an additional 4-5 db headroom.
You might also get slightly better sound quality because each sub will
be working half as hard but the different in sound quality would be
relatively minor unless you are pushing the single sub very close to its
limits now. With dual PB12-Plus/2s in a 2500 cubic foot room you should
be able to push the air out of your lungs if you so desire."

I could not dream of having two of these things, right now anyway ;) , I'm hardly using the one I have, trying to ease my self into it. If I'm not mistaken the gain was set at less than a quarter up and the HK was set at -5 or -6 on the sub level.

I wanted the PB12/Plus 2 so bad I paid 1700 bucks for mine(500 bucks in shipping charges), that was shipped to my door in Japan, granted that was sight unseen, sub unheard, just read many reviews. I did the same thing to get my Rti12s shipped to Japan, 300 bucks shipped, again just from reading reviews here and other online sites.

I'm such a idiot, I was trying to join the PWC ya know the LOTR ring drop test at 110db and I thought that it was supposed to be run at the part where Billbo was leaving and drops the ring for Frodo to have. I fooled with my settings for an hour and only got it up to 109db , without turning the gain on the sub up over halfway I don't want to get to crazy yet, and I couldn't figure what I was doing wrong. Finally I went back and read the old thread about it again and saw it was where Saron lost the ring at the begining not when Billbo left, The SVS knock that out fairly easy but I was begining to get worried.

if you're at all computer savy (and have a Radio Shack SPL meter), just get yourself a Behringer Feedback Destroyer and download room EQ wizard for free. Does the same thing as the Velodyne SMS, just not as user friendly... Cost: a little over $100.

yep, works great. The BFD used as a sub EQ is very popular in the HT crowd. The great thing about the Room EQ wizard is that it gives you the exact settings to plug into the BFD. It used to be the hardest part about using the BFD was how to set the thing up, now it's a snap once you figure out how to use Room EQ wizard, which has a bit of a learning curve...

I have some before and after pictures of my sub after EQ'ing but they must be on my PC at home. I can post them later today.

EDIT: The Home theater shack forums where you download Room EQ Wizard should be able to help with learning how to use the software. So take a look around there.
