What a way to experience NASCAR for the first time! Sitting in the sute must have been a fun time. I've been going to the Dover DE race for years and have really good seats but have never been in the suite. I didn't go to the race this year as money is tight and saving all that i can for polkfest. Glad to hear that you had a good time.

I went to Dover this year as an VIP guest for a company I do work for. Had a great time, but there's one thing I want to know. Where do all those Deliverance looking ****'s come from???

When I watch NASCAR, I feel like I left something at home.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Have sat in boxes for a few hockey games over the years. It's nice to get the royal treatment, but sitting in a soundproof box takes something away from the event. NOISE.

As long as you are still able to walk forward and have the majority of your teeth you should be ok. Scary! :D:D:D

I gotta agree with Michael. I went to every Pats home game for a few years, and the whole reason I loved going was because of the crowd. Just being in the midst of ~70k people screaming at the top of their lungs... .just nothing like it. Being in a luxury box must be nice an dall, but just not my thing.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

IMHO, that's the only way to go to a race. That, of course, comign from someone who's never been to one at all.

    Glad you had good time!

Personally I prefer to be in the stands. The suites are nice but you just don't get the full experience from there. I'll never forget sitting in the 18th row just out of turn 4 at Talladega. FEELING the roar of that pack of cars, watching everyone in the section loose their hats from the rush of wind on the first lap, and going home looking like a raccoon because of all the tire dust on your face!

    Wow, what a rush!

Cmy - you should try Knoxville IA and the Outlaw Sprinters. Not much more of a rush than having a winged sprinter hitting 150 mph on a half-mile dirt track and sliding by you with only about 30 ft between you and the car. You have to drink your beer fast or it accumulates a lot of dark sludge at the bottom of the cup  And yes the crowd will make you realize that a dentist will be the poorest person in town

It ain't racin' if there ain't dirt in yer beer!

Scary is when one of those Outlaw cars hooks a wheel on the guard rail, gets all twisted sideways, digs into the dirt and ends up flying end over end, OVER the 20ft fence protecting the audience. Yeah, they look small standing next to them but when you are in the shadows of one coming at you at 100 MPH, they look pretty damn big!

BTW, Sprints and Outlaws have no transmissions, that's why they go around the track turns sideways dancing a jig between the throttle and brake pedals.

Our local track here is Bridgeport Speedway and it's way out in the sticks but it's a hell of a summer Friday or Saturday night!

Wow, now that's really interesting. They must have some major power (and no weight) to be able to accelerate and go fast with no gears.

I might have to start watching some of the roundy rounds now that Juan Pablo Montoya has joined the NASCAR.

I think he is in the ARCA series now. But I really don't know much about the feeder series.

Jstas - a winged sprinter that is set up properly and has a ballsy motor won't slide in the corners! All you will hear is the motor lug slightly and the announcer say "it's quick time". It's a beautiful sight to see!

Watch the the Japanese Gran Prix this coming weekend. 130R a corner to watch. Alonso passed M$ on the outside 2 years ago( I think, can't remember which year). The season is down to the last 2 races and anything could happen.

That was last year (2005) MillerLiteScott, the same race where Kimi embarassed Fisi when he passed him on the last lap to take the win. :D
