Chicago will win the division by default, but that doesn't make them solid SB contenders. (See also Patriots, NE)

I've been a Bears fan all my life and while it's too early for me to be singing a Superbowl victory song, what I've seen so far is impressive. Yes, they need to be consistent and keep the hunger each week. I know Detroit and Green Bay weren't a huge challenge but beating Minnesota despite the almost 100 yards in penalties and spanking Seattle last night gives me a very positive feeling.

The defense is about the best you can get and now that we have some offense it makes the ingredients for a superbowl contender, but they have to take care of business each week. I for one am looking forward to it.

Dragon speaks the truth! I couldn't stand that asshat when he coached the Chiefs. It had nothing to do with the team, i just couldn't stand him as a coach.

Is it just me or is Vander (prev Colts kicker) just sucking mega nuts this year... or are they making it seem like hes missing all kinds of field goals??

I dont like the Bears, but they played... a great game. If the Panthers dont go, I want the Bears to go... awesome game last night.

Wow... where were those Patriots hiding the past few weeks? I honestly never thought we'd do that well against the Bengals... but I'm not complainin! Hope to see the Patriots continue to play like that. :D

Great game. The offense still needs to work on receiver timing and the defense needs to work on tackling and get more takeaways, but it was pretty sweet on Sunday. It's too bad Jarvis Green doesn't get more playing time--he goes out and kills quarterbacks when they play him. Remember the Indy playoff game a couple years ago?

Right... the way the Chargers have played, they sure look like an 8-8 team...

    How about...
    SD 11-5
    Den 10-6
    KC 8-8
    Oak 3-13

And whoever pointed out that 10-6 will leave KC on the outside, looking in, is right. I'd bet on 5 teams going 11-5 or better, could easily be 6. Let's have a look at KC's tough schedule and guess at their record...

    Cincinatti L
    at Denver L
    San Francisco W
    at Arizona W
    at Pittsburgh L
San Diego W (gift- they'll win one of these 2- SD / Seattle)
    Seattle L
    at St. Louis W
    at Miami W
    Oakland W
    Denver L
    at Cleveland W
    Baltimore L
    at San Diego L
    at Oakland W
Jacksonville L (KC comes in 8-7, nothing to play for)

    That's 8-8.
It could be 10-6, but they've probably got to win 4 out of 5 tough home games to do it (SD, Sea, Den, Bal, and Jax). I wouldn't bet on Indy, Chicago, or even my Pats to win 4 of those 5 this year.

But, what the hell, they could go 10-6. What will that get them?

    IND 12-4
    CIN 11-5
    NE 11-5
    SD 11-5
    BAL 11-5
    PIT 10-6
    JAX 10-6
    DEN 10-6
KC 10-6 Part of a log-jam for the honor of going to Foxboro in January. On the outside looking in... best they can do is split with Denver. Kc splits w/SD- maybe. SD splits with Den. They all beat OAK twice, all go 4-2 in division. Loss at P-burg costs them playoff spot.

But that's why they play the games....

Solid analysis... but not gonna happen :)

    Cincinnati L
    at Denver L
    San Francisco W
    at Arizona W
at Pittsburgh W (we always beat the super bowl champs)
San Diego W (Always win at home )
    Seattle W
    at St. Louis W
    at Miami W
    Oakland W
Denver W (We always split with Denver. We'll win at home)
    at Cleveland W
Baltimore L (Balt is for real)
    at San Diego L
at Oakland L (Oakland will play us tough)
    Jacksonville W

That will put us at 11-5. SD won't be 11-5. KC wins the West. But as you say, it's why the games are played :D We could also very well be 6-10. But don't say I said it.

I'd also put Balt at 14-2. Home field throughout. Indy probably 13-3.

So the win against SF is the beginning of a 10 game win streak? They should beat Leinart this week, but I can't imagine them running off 3 more in a row- @ PIT, SD, then SEA. We'll see...

Baltimore is strong, clearly a playoff contender, but they're not running the ball well enough yet to go 14-2 playing in what may be the best division in the NFL.

Balt 14-2? WHAAAT!!! No way in hell. They are a one dimensional team. 12-4 at best. I see more a 10-6 type team. McNair has been the most overrated QB this season. He throws 8-10 completely uncatchable balls every game and their running game has dissapeared. The D is solid, but that's it. Same old B-more this year. No one will want to play them, but they are beatable by all but the worst teams in the league.

Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin
