Good for the Ravens. They are legit this year.

How about them Chiefs?! 41-0. A shut out is a shut out is a shut out. Our D is much improved from last few years. Hopefully 2-2 after next week. From there, anything goes.

I got a killer buzz going and Seahawks are about to kickoff.

I am suprised at just how badly the Bengals got beaten. They took it all the way to the balls.

Man, I hope you are wrong! I think we have a one, maybe two year window before Green is gone, Gonzo is gone, Shields and Waters move on. I know our D got about 7 years younger, this time around, but the O still has some spunk to it. If they can squeak out a 10-6, we'll win the division and from there, anything can happen. (Steeler's of last year anyone?)

For the time being, I'm happy we have a defense that isn't ranked dead last for 5 years in a row.

10-6 in the AFC West get's ya nothing but a seat on the couch to watch the Super Bowl. There's still two teams ahead in the rankings...granted it's still early, but 10-6 won't get ya Wild Card spot.

Nah, you're assuming the Donkey's pull out a good season. I just don't think so. And the Dolts and Faiders are done. :D Nothing like positive thinking. 10-6 wins the West. No wild cards from the West this year either...

Hahaha, Herm Edwards can't coach his way out of a paper bag. Not to mention that as soon as your team goes downhill he'll cut tail and run like he did with the Jets.

Seriously, have you ever listened to that guy speak? How could anyone take him seriously, especially his players??

Easy there Joey, remember this is Chicago and with the exception of the Bulls we have a tendancy to fade right when the going gets tough. But I'm with you if we can stay healthy they sure look like a Superbowl team. It's been a long time since I've been this excited about the Bears.

    Go Bears

5 for 5 in the field goal department, eh?
this is a much needed turn of events.....

and Jumpin' Jesus on a Pogo Stick, did Chicago hand it to Seattle, or what?!?

Well, apparently his D has taken him seriously. Top 5 overall? Of course, it's only 4 weeks into the season, but still... quite the improvement from the Dick Vermeil Era.

You're kidding right? The only team they had to have a defense against was Denver! They got crushed by Cincy, shut out one of the worst teams in the league (San Fran) and had a BYE. Let's hold our praise of their defense just a bit longer.

Actually, After the first half of Cincy, we haven't allowed anyone into the end zone again. 10 quarters is 10 quarters without a touchdown. If we had tried that last year, dream on.

But I will hold the praise for a bit longer. If they can maintain their pace over an entire season, Then I'll be HAPPY :D

SF's O isn't anything to sneeze at. It's not Indy's, but its not B-more's or the Titans.

This year is just really goofy and I don't see any extremely strong all around teams yet. I'll be sold on Chicago if they can still pass in a month.

Right... the way the Chargers have played, they sure look like an 8-8 team...

    How about...
    SD 11-5
    Den 10-6
    KC 8-8
    Oak 3-13

And whoever pointed out that 10-6 will leave KC on the outside, looking in, is right. I'd bet on 5 teams going 11-5 or better, could easily be 6. Let's have a look at KC's tough schedule and guess at their record...

    Cincinatti L
    at Denver L
    San Francisco W
    at Arizona W
    at Pittsburgh L
San Diego W (gift- they'll win one of these 2- SD / Seattle)
    Seattle L
    at St. Louis W
    at Miami W
    Oakland W
    Denver L
    at Cleveland W
    Baltimore L
    at San Diego L
    at Oakland W
Jacksonville L (KC comes in 8-7, nothing to play for)

    That's 8-8.
It could be 10-6, but they've probably got to win 4 out of 5 tough home games to do it (SD, Sea, Den, Bal, and Jax). I wouldn't bet on Indy, Chicago, or even my Pats to win 4 of those 5 this year.

But, what the hell, they could go 10-6. What will that get them?

    IND 12-4
    CIN 11-5
    NE 11-5
    SD 11-5
    BAL 11-5
    PIT 10-6
    JAX 10-6
    DEN 10-6
KC 10-6 Part of a log-jam for the honor of going to Foxboro in January. On the outside looking in... best they can do is split with Denver. Kc splits w/SD- maybe. SD splits with Den. They all beat OAK twice, all go 4-2 in division. Loss at P-burg costs them playoff spot.

But that's why they play the games....

I'm sold on Chicago already. Their division is terrible. If / when Grossman goes down, they've got Griese. He's no stud, but he's better than Orton, who kept them winning last year. I think they need Grossman to win in the playoffs, and they still need to improve running the ball, but they don't have to play great football to host their first playoff game. They will need to play well very well to earn a bye.

Chicago will win the division by default, but that doesn't make them solid SB contenders. (See also Patriots, NE)
