Sudden trouble with my trusty PSW50

've had a PSW50 for a long time, and it has worked great. Recently, it started making a strange buzzing sound, sorta like the music is piped through a child's kazoo or something.

Is there any hope I can repair it, or should I start over?

I think that means the voice coil is going bad. If thats the case, you'll need a replacement speaker or get a new sub.

Is this something that just happens after 8 years or so? :-(

I don't mind replacing the speaker, but, where do I get a replacement?

Is it likely that other things (like the amp) will also fail soon?

I called Customer Support, and while I could still get the replacement driver, it seems that for not that much more money purchasing a new PSW10 was a better option for me.

    Does anyone want a slightly-busted PSW50?

Quick thing to try: I bought a used PSW50 for $3 at a garage sale with the same issue.

I merely turned the woofer upside down into a different mounting orientation and the issue went away.

    "Good luck."
