Anyone know about these Polks?
I've been checking these out:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=014&item=330025287151&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
Never seen them before. Didn't realize Polk made SDA bookshelf speakers. Can anyone tell me the specs? How do they sound? When were they made? Is this a good price? NOTE: I e-mailed the seller and he doesn't know the specs.
Thanks.

Early,
I cant see the link at work, but I have a set of the SDA CRS, the original with the two sl2000 tweets. They sound marvelous and can be modded to extremes, I think when all was said and done I was around 300.00 mark with stands and in excellent condition.
Hope that helps a bit, but I know a bunch of guys here have them, they are really all the SDA you could want.

Those are the sda crs. 1st generation.
They're excellent.SRT For Life; SDA Forever!
The SRT SEISMIC System:
Four main satellite speakers, six powered subs, two dedicated for LFE channel, two center speakers for over/under screen placement and three Control Centers. Amaze your friends, terrorize your neighbors, seize the audio bragging rights for your state. Go ahead, buy it; you only go around once. -
Thanks, fellas.
I'm really interested in knowing how low they go. If I bought them, I'd use them for HT fronts.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Mine are in a HT bedroom rig now being used as fronts, they are supplemented by a psw250. I might have the specs if no one knows off hand, I will see if I can find them Seo sent me a manual if I remember right.

If I remember correctly the original CRS are 4 ohm, blade/blade.
RT1 -
According to Dr. Smith's fine compilation:
FR - 31 Hz to 26,000 Hz
Imp. - 6 ohms
Eff. - 92 dB
Tweeters - 2 x SL2000
Stereo driver and dimensional driver - MW6503
PR - SW102
Twin blade interconnect -
Seems a fair price considering you probably wouldn't need to upgrade the tweeters and the cable is included. If you do get them, ask for them to be boxed and shipped separately with plenty of bubble wrap, not just packing peanuts. You might also want to see additional photos. I'm not sure if Polk made their stands for the originals, but the PartsExpress 24" stands work well with the CRS series.

Early, That pair has been listed 3 times (including the current auction). Didn't sell for $350. Notice its not an auction, but fixed price. Overpriced in my opinion. They have SL1000s in them. Not as easy to upgrade as the later versions.
If you like that pair, check out this pair, ending tonight

A true auction, should give you an idea of what the going price is.For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
Thanks, Bill. I'd rather buy speakers that work. In your link the seller says that one of the tweeters in each speaker is out. He also doesn't have the cable. These should sell at a low price to someone who enjoys repairing speakers.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

I didn't read the whole auction. Didn't notice that, or how scratched up they are.
By the way, most likely, the tweeter's that are not working are because the interconnect cable isn't being used. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -

Those are the "freak" SDA CRS's with the SL1000 tweeters. I'm surprised someone hasn't snapped these up just for the tweeters alone.:) Some people think the SL1000 sounds better than the SL2000 and the latest silk dome tweeter.
As billbillw stated, the subsequent tweeters (SL2000 and silk dome) are not drop in replacements for the SL1000.Proud and loyal citizen of the Digital Domain and Solid State Country! -
I e-mailed the seller and asked to see additional pics, and he'll provide them tomorrow. He said they are in 7/10 condition, but I'd like to see what they look like before pulling the trigger (if they're still available). They gotta at least look presentable.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

I would presume they forgot to take the crazy pill that day, as those tweeters are equally horrible. That's just me, simply due to a better tweeter being available. It's a shame it's not framed smaller...maybe the DEI thing can get the manufacturer to press another, smaller frame. nudge nudge wink wink ehCTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Gotta agree with Doro. Silk domes are the sheeetz!Political Correctness'.........defined
