2 or 3 channel amp for HK 7300

OK, here is the deal. I recently purchased an unopened reconditioned HK AVR-7300 from a fellow Polkster. Everything is great there. It has replaced my HK-525 (which I am considering selling, by the way)

I am running an all Lsi 5.1 setup (9's C, FX's, w/SVS sub) and the system sounds pretty damned good. Even so, I am considering adding an amp for my mains, or even a three channel amp for the whole front. I am not worried that the beast that is the 7300 can drive the surrounds.

Here's the question. Outlaw has B-stock 2200's for 275 each. While this almost seems like a no brainer, I am concerned that the amps are really not designed for strict 2 channel use, which I use for all music. Something about everything after 80 watts being class G. Help me out here.

Ultimately, a good 2 or three channel for around the same money would be attractive. Or should I go with the 2200's? Any advice?

how's about trading me that 525 for my Rotel RB1070. It's a hellova good two channel amp. Mint condition.

That is a possibility. I would wonder, though, if I would get that much benefit from any amp that wasn't pushing 200@8, 300@4 ohms.

If it would, that would still leave my center unchanged. Should I go two or three channels the "same". I know for my music concerns, a two channel would work well, but does it mess things up to have the difference in power across the whole front?

Seriously, what do you think?

That occured to me also. If feeding the speakers a cleaner source of power on the mains then the center isn't going to match "exactly". If it were me I'd want my front FL,C, & FR to be getting their power from the same source. My $.02

I have just purchased a single Outlaw 2200 on a-gon, and I think I will just go ahead and pony up the dough for two more from the Outlaw site.

Thanks guys, it is always nice to get some feedback from those who have been there. It makes this hobby fun (and expensive!).

Ordered the Outlaw 2200's from the web site @ $275.00 each, shipped. I'll let you guys know how they sound.

Just for the record, the HK 7300 is having NO problems driving my Lsi's. The video upconversion of this receiver is fantastic. I just want more power!...lol!
