im not. believe me ive been waiting years to be able to afford the svs. im only saying that lil paradigm was super impresive. its only 12"x12"x12". and that thing compleatly blew away other "higher end" velodynes. it was really cool cause its tiny and packs a biggggggg bang. But hey ive check the ups website about 50 times today watching it get closer and closer. should be here tomorrow.

    Pics to come soon!!!!

    SVS is hard to explain.

You'll hear from a few people that they arnt accurate, they arnt anything special....

Ive heard subwoofers costing 30,000 dollars. THey sound fantastic. They sound great.

But I'm here to tell you that my $600 subwoofer in my room, has not dissapointed me at all... I demand a bit more from it than it can deliver me - but thats because my systems needs have outgrown it.

SVS sounds like nothing you've heard in the store. They dont stick out in your system, you cant hear them like other subs - all you can do is feel their prescence and what they are accomplishing...

You have alot to look forward to.

Don't forget, when you get your new hooked up...take the TIME to calibrate your system...any sub must work with the rest of your set-up to achieve max performance

    Ill add to that...

Get your sub away from walls, particularly a corner...

And dont cross it above 60hz.

The extra a corner adds to a sub is cool...

But it takes a real subwoofer to perform well away from one. Thats a testiment to a real subwoofer.

Do you have a SPL meter?

Shoot me an email at me. I got some tones and a spreadsheet to send you.

    You have Excel?

    Hey Vr3MxStyler2k3,
I have the pb12 plus 2, I have it crossed over at 80hz, I have not tried it at 60hz. Do you suppose I give it a shot, also my sub sits about 2 feet in a corner away from the wall? Any recommendations for placement as well? Thanks and hey Tecmo not to jack your thread man, awesome sub you got there.

Easiest way to tweak your setup,is to buy a Spl meter from Radioshack, then follow the guidelines on this forum, SVS even has the guidelines posted on their website and here is the link

    80hz sucks.

    Bottom line.

60hz should be the highest you get. If you do half HT, half music - maybe 70hz. But 80hz is so sloshy for music, yuck...

2' from both walls is pretty decent, try farther out. You got a pretty big sub.

If you have Excel and a SPL meter and you want some tones and a spreadsheet with corrections, email me at vr3mxdmicblce2k7@gmail.com

Well I dont have time to email people stuff. But I will give you the stuff if you shoot me one, easier for me that way.

But if Tecmo wants to send you the stuff, that would be fine too. I got a boat load of HW and studying to do... sucks.

Hey Tecmo, on my es I just go into the Customize settings of the menu and set up the crossover there. Of course you setup the small/large settings in the speaker setup menu. What ES do you have, surely you can find it on the Sony website.

Do you have a sound pressure level meter? SPL that will help you set up all you other speakers. without one it's just a guesssing game.

you def need a SPL meter, I thought I was good just by tweaking by ear, you have no idea how much a difference you will notice once calibrated. Your local radioshack will have one.

i bought one. the funny part is i used it to tune the volume for each speaker before the movie (which was way different then when i did it by ear of course) and thats when i really started to notice all the flaws. By chain reaction i then came to the experts to ask questions. So now what? i dont have avia. I am going to try the thx optimizer but that wont really help with setting up the frequencies cut offs for each speaker will it?
