Very sad news.
The recent thread asking about gshisme prompted me to check my records. He bought an HK receiver from me last year and I had is full name from the transaction. I searched his name on yahoo and an obituary came up with his name:

He passed away July 17, 2006
Rest in peace brother

He was a fine fellow member, I can hardly believe its true.
There is a virtual book you can sign, would that be proper for us?
He loved animals I would join in a group donation to his SPCA

It's not often I'm sadden from news on this board.
Rest in peace.
DaveTime is the best teacher. Unfortunately it kills all its students. -
Wasn't he sick or just off surgery?
I really can't believe it either. Is this the first Polkie we've lost?
Looks like he was buying audio right up until the end - that was his last thread and post...really sad
RIP -

He was sick, I recall exchanging PMs about it with him a few times, but unfortunately they're not in my box to look in on now.
In any event, this is very sad news. R.I.P. gshisme -
I know he had severe back problems. Here is his thread stating his surgery and why he was moving to CA:

Do you guys think it would be appropriate for us pull together some coin and send his family some flowers or a basket or something along those lines...or maybe it's too late at this point and would do more harm than good...
I wouldn't mind organizing this, provided that we have an address somewhere and we think it's appropriate. -
RIP Brother.-izafar

this is sad news, indeed.I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore -

I left an entry. I can't think of any reason why it would be inappropriate."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,
CAUSE I SPEAK OF THE POMPITIOUS OF LOVE" -

There are some email addys in the online guestbook. Maybe we can contact someone there.
Or
We could donate to the SPCA listed in the obituary. According to the obituary, the family requested dontations to the Northampton County SPCA instead of flowers.Receiver: harmankardon AVR235

I noticed you can send a sympathy gift, I was thinking about us each chipping in.
The problem is that it's almost been a month now and they're probably just now getting their lives back to normal, something like this showing up at the door now may set them back a bit... -

I'm liking the SPCA donation idea.
It would be cool if we could all go in together and do an official Club Polk donation - what do you guys think? -

Wow, that is sad news! I remember the posts where he discussed his back problems, however I don't remember getting the impression that his illness was that severe.

This is terrible. Where was Gregory S. Hart from? What did he do? Did he have a family?
I'm in for any type donation, so when it gets together, somebody please e-mail me with the details. -
I didn't know Greg other than from what I have read in the forums, but this has really stopped me in my tracks today....
I will keep his family in my prayers.
