Well I been listening to the Lsi7's I could really use a sub. No money for a sub right now is it a stupid idea use one Rti4 a sub?

I could convert the speaker wire to RCA, its for a small room.
Will it hurt the speaker?

Or even Connect both of them and run them in parallel.

Also I could take off the jumpers and run then in the bottom posts.
Setup:

2 Channel: Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grand, T+A P 1230R, Primare SPA21, Oppo BDP-105
PC: Vienna Acoustics Haydn Grand, Cambridge Azure 650A v2 , Peachtree iDAC, Denon DVD-3800BDCI

    I mean this.

    This is a horrible idea.

Most people cross a subwoofer over at 80Hz, and the RTi4's -3dB limit is 60Hz. So, you'd get an amazing 20Hz of coverage with a massive 5 1/4" woofer.

Yes, it's a horrible idea, but that's why.

Care to give any reasons why it wont work?
Obviously its just something temporary until I buy a sub.

    Damn. You are crazy:D
    HT or 2.1 channel?
Small musical subs come up on Craigslist pretty cheap all the time in the DFW area. Nice HT subs are a lot harder to find. I found my SVS pci25-31
on Craigslist for $200. If you must have something now, I got a Yamaha
YST-315(cheap). Nothing much, but it will work as a starter for HT. PM me.

What makes you think that the RTi 4's will put out any more bass than your 7's do?

SUBWOOFER.......for sub frequency....you need a dedicated speaker able to go at the least as low as 40hz ....crazy to even think of a RTi4 to do that kind of job.....go to cc or bb and there cheapest sub will do way more than the 4 will do as a subwoofer....no question is stupid, it's just this one is a little odd

Are you thinking of driving this "sub" from the RCA sub output of your reciever? That won't work at all.

Ok I know this idea is crazy...and didn't give it much thought to it when I posted it...I forgot about having to power them...only reason for doing this is to give it a little more bass for the time being. What about taking the jumpers off both the 7's and the 10's run the mids/highs of the 7's through my amp. Then run bottom posts the bass through my receiver?

Bi-amping the speaker isn't going to change the speaker's native frequency response.

Why don't you use your Rti10s? Their -3db is 35hz, compared to the the 7s, which are 53hz.

Do you even have an rti4? It's not listed in your sig

I dont want the 10's cuz their mids/highs don't come close to the Lsi's. I have the Rti4's on the floor not used which is why their not on my sig.

The rti4 likes to participate in group activities. Seems unfair to leave it out due to it's size. I attribute it to picking team mates on the playground.

Use the 4 for your sub. Let it participate.

Well when I put the jumpers back on the Lsi7's first and I noticed the Rti10's stopped using its 6.5 Driver and just played low freq. The 7's are playing normal but the 10's are adding more bass sounds better for now.

I don't know what's worse... that these ideas came up or that no one wants to take the time to explain WHY it won't work other than just laughing.

BTW, I want my car to be faster so I thought about taking off the transmission. It seems to be heavy so this should work...
