Left lane is for passing... and that generally means 80+mph if its not rush hour. But I think that rule applies up through NY.
I saw atleast 20 accidents in a 50 mile span in 2 hours in the MD area when I was there last... And not only were their accidents, it was as if both sides of the effing road would stop...look at every accident! Even if it was on the other side of the road...
The fact that there were signs every mile "Fender Bender? Call Here" is a testament to the poor driving ability around there.
And its without a doubt that people around here spend way to much time in the passing lane... lol
And Im talking about where all the roads intersect, come out of the ground, go up in the air and everything is going every direction and (when I was there) alot of construction was going on. (no signs)- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
While I"m not ever one to defend the driving ability of all the retarded zombies out there on the roads, I'm sure road conditions and design, as well as the severe congestion in that area have much more to do with the high rate of accidents than actual driving skill. Don't you live in the Carolinas, Sid? I can't imagine that you have anywhere near the amount of volume in any stretch of road than they do in the Baltimore / DC area, or up through NJ.If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Not near the volume... I guess its kind of like the stampede effect... but with cars...
You get alot of cars on the road and every single effing person has to follow 2' from the guy infront of them.
Idiots.
I had a lady following me on the interstate going like 80 mph..... 2' from my bumper, atleast...

Talk about an exaggeration. Unless its a bad winter storm, there aren't 20 accidents in the area... let alone on one stretch of road.
I will agree that rubber necking is bad though.
Oh, and if someone is up your butt while driving, it means you're going too slow. Move!
I get really riled up about stupid driving.Brian Knauss
