My trip to NJ sucked big time....

OK first off if hind sight was good I would have returned home...

We have 4 bags 1 large 1 med 2 small all need to be weighed the large one is 4 lbs over and would cost me $25 more or we can more something around here there. OK so at ticket counter we move shoes from one to another. (signs to come) During the check in I was told my driver license had expired. So they checked my boarding pass was marked NO ID with SSSSSSS (what **** **** **** .....?) at the TSA check in they returned me back to the ticket counter to get a signature. They said they didn't need to put a signature but placed a stamp on it. TSA see this and I'm called a Level 1 and need a complete pat down  OK then we get to gate we are in a ground hold due a Philly airport issue 1 runway? Who really knows for sure but we where delayed 40mins on take off.

OK now the truly fun.... Hertz wouldn't take my credit card and my wifes DL and my wife doesn't have a credit card with her. They wouldn't take cash and they wouldn't take a Visa Check card from my wife. OK so all our heavy bags we need to get back to the AIRPORT to find another car rental that would work with us. At the airport the car courtesy phone don't work or no one would pick up? Pay phones don't have any phone books by phones.. 411 gives me bad numbers.... So on and So on....

We get a vehicle from Budget and now it's rush hour we get a bit lost getting out of the **** city, but we find our way to Candlewood Suite on rt 73.

All in all I wish to press restart / or this is a bad dream.

steve, what did you land in Philly?

I've never been there, but the only way I know for you to get to NJ is to find a crossing over the deleware (NJ is a penninsula)

as far as I know, you have to cross through Camden from philly when you get to the nj side. do NOT do this at night!!!

find a local in philly who might have some insight how to get to NJ without going into Camden. believe me, it will be worth it.

Florida, well at least this part (Delray Beach), is pretty nice today. Overcast with a nice breeze, high expected in the upper 80's-lower 90's. Far fewer allergens for us old wheezers. I'm digging it!

BTW - made it down here without any full cavity searches, being added to a watch list, or getting lost. :D

    Seems like...

As soon as you enter The MD/VA line... all hell breaks loose as far as driving ability and road durability.

Particularly right there on the border of VA/MD...

*scratches head* what part of the border? 495 is pretty well kept up. And its not that driving ability goes out the window... its called you boys down south need to grow a pair. Left lane is for passing... and that generally means 80+mph if its not rush hour. But I think that rule applies up through NY.
