OK, why is anyone wasting time answering this.........

You have a CARDBOARD BOX for your subwoofer. When you get something real and want to ask a question that's not completely stupid like "can I save my box" ask away.

    You've got to be kidding...........

But here is the thing. I tried my other sub, it did the same thing.

Your gains/outputs are too high or you have two blown subs, or a combinations of both. You need to do some reading, spend $13 on a sheet of MDF and make a real box.

Lighter fluid...... match. Pour lighter fluid on sub box..... strike match and then move away from ensuing flames. Cardboard burns quickly!!! Don't mess with audio anymore, you don't know what you're doing.

Better also warn him that he should do that while the box is outside the car. This kid would probably try to actually burn it inside his trunk.

The correct question to ask is: "What is an 'Amsoil box' ?".

"In 1972 AMSOIL developed the first synthetic motor oil in the world to meet American Petroleum Institute service requirements. Currently, the AMSOIL product line includes the finest quality synthetic motor oils, synthetic diesel oils, gear lubes, synthetic greases, industrial lubricants, oil filters, air filters and automotive performance products.
I welcome the opportunity to work with you personally as your servicing AMSOIL Dealer. Use the information on this website to contact me. "

So.....besides being the makers of fine subwoofer enclosures, "Amsoil" also carries fine petroleum products.

You also have an opportunity to become a preferred customer online
    OR an actual dealer online.

From what I understand, the argument over which to become is hotter than the "tube" vs "SS" issue.

Easy there hoss...... just having a little fun. We're laughing with you not at you  . On a serious note it's extremely difficult to diagnose a problem like you are experiencing because it could be any number of things. Also, based on your posts I'm not sure anything was done properly so it could be anything to wiring, or parts used, or mounting, or user error, etc. Seriously you lost me at the cardboard enclosure. That's like asking a serious question about an automobile repair and then revealing you drive a pine box derby racer.

How can you expect anyone who is even slightly knowledgeable about car stereo subs, installation, etc. to take you seriously when you tell them your subs are mounted in a cardboard box? Either build a real enclosure or have one built then come back with your questions about noise issues. My best educated guess is the problem lies with the Amsoil box, perhaps it needs more lubrication.

    Ok...

I know this kid is an absolute moron and he called me an ****...

But this thread, really is no good without any pics...

And... while the sub itself may be distorting... lol - it could also be the idea that your cardboard box is distorting.
