The little Von Schweikert I got goes to 20hz +/-2db but it retails for about $1500.00. This little SVS looks nice.

Interesting design. Viewing the pictures, at first I though it was a sealed sub.

I think I just found the sub to go with my Magnepan 1.6's! If the pricing is in the range quoted, it's not really worth building a DIY sub if this things any good.

Yep, SB = Sealed Box. I bet they're using an LT circuit to get that low end extension. The LT circuit is popular in the DIY crowd, and that is where SVS's roots are.

Yeah, LT or they assume that you can use that parametric EQ to boost the signal to correctly counteract the roll off.

Edit: I take that back- the room comp is probably the LT, then they've got the EQ on there to take care of your primary room null. Very nice design.

Put me down for 2 also. I wish the would do something sealed in an 8" model, with the quality of the drivers they use, you want to talk about attack, and speed - I can't imagine.

That's an awesome lil sub there. Couple hundred more though and you can get the PB-12/Plus. So I'm still saving up for that. This is an awesome sub if you're limited on space though.

I was told about the prototypes in January...about damn time.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I think it's aiming for a slightly different market. The sealed design won't give you huge SPL's, but it'll be FAR more musical that your standard ported sub. It also doesn't hurt that it's so small :)

Being more musical won't be a bad thing for SVS.

Yep. The size & specs make me think of the Velodyne SPL1200... less power, and no auto EQ, but half the price.
