Thoughts On SL2000 upgrade-RD0194-1

Yeah! Baby!!! Oh man..Now that is the Polk I remember. One person said the SL2000 upgrade was like having a new speaker. This is one upgrade that is definetly worth doing. I don't know how anyone could be happy with the original SL2000 unless your system was very subdued, or dark. The upper mids to high frequency was so irritaiting that most of the music I listen to
was not pleasurable, or tolerable to say the least. (Hard Rock) If you have these original Silver Dome SL2000 and think they are a little bright then you have to buy the Silk Dome SL2000 replacement. Damn I Love these Now!!!

I'm guessing that when I pulled the original SL2000 I seen what looked like an etched positive and negative in the plastic, which was black wire positive and white wire Negative. The new speaker had one input that was a little pink. For positive I hope. Can anyone confirm this??Yamaha RX-V863

I thought so just wanted someone to back me up on it.

Nice system, congrats on the tweeters. Now that you're here, we're going to get you into some SDA's:)Carl

Oh yes I almost bought some on ebay, but either ran into. Local pickup only, or the shipping was off the richter scale. I remember going into my local audio store in the 80s listening to the big SDA SRS I think 1.2, but either way it was the biggest one Polk made. 4 tweeters 8 6 1/2 and a 15 passive radiator I believe. They had this hooked up to McIntosh equipment and that was when I fell in love with the Polks. Had a couple of Monitor 10s and I remember when polk quit making them and those LS90s came out..Man I was dissapointed...Yamaha RX-V863

Paul, Keep your eyes open on the Flea Market section of this Forum. SDA's do come up in the Baltimore/DC area from time to time.
