I have a various assortment of basic gear available if anyone is looking for a garage rig, second bedroom or add-on for an existing rig. Here we go...

Onkyo TX-810 Receiver - 9/10 - *SOLD*

This is a pretty cool, semi-vintage RCV for simple use. It's minty fresh with a near perfect chassis and faceplate. Definetly one of the better used, semi-old school Onkyo RCV's I've run across in my travels. It is 4 OHM stable per the user manual. NO remote control.

I would use this for my test rig if I didn't have a way cool Yamaha AVC-50 already.

45wpc @ 8ohms
Discrete Output Stage
A+B Speaker Outputs
Phono Input
5 Audio Inputs
1 Switched Outlet
20 Tuner Presets
Tone Controls
Headphone Output
Tape Monitor

Includes: High quality reproduction user manual.

Yamaha KX-W900U Double Cassette Deck - 7/10 - *SOLD*

It's not a Nakamichi, but built like a brick sh*thouse. It's heavy and has been cleaned from top to bottom and internally. It has some rack rash and a dent on the top, but nothing that takes away from the overall performance or condition. This is a very nice cassette deck. Break out your Iron Maiden, Stryper and Nugent...and get your rock on.

Auto-Reverse
2 Head(REC and PLAY)
Soft Touch Controls
Digital Counter
Bias/Recording Trim Adjustement
High Speed Dubbing Automation
Dolby B & C Noise Reduction
Headphone Output

Includes: N/A.

Denon DCM-555 CD Changer - 8/10 - *SOLD*

This is a killer CD Changer. It includes the 6 disc & single disc magazine as well as the Original service manual and supplement. No digital output, straight analog. No remote, but is a universal unit. If you have some other old school Denon gear, this is a great match. It has a scratch on the top, but is in otherwise really good cosmetic condition.

Service Manual Comments: The DCM-555 is a CD player which includes an exclusive Denon Super Linear Converter, which eliminates sound quality deterioration in the PCM audio system in order to reproduce the exact sound captured in the studio or at the live performance recorded on compact disc. In addition, components are rigorously selected for their high performance and excellent audio quality to recapture the original sound in full.

Super Linear Converter(Denon)
Direct Track Selection
Program Selection
Random Play
Variable Headphone Output
Etc....it's a full function CDP.

Includes: Original Service Manual and Supplement.

Everything has been thoroughly cleaned and all connections have been treated with CAIG ProGold. The pictures are high-resolution, so don't mistake dust for imperfections. The shipping will be bulletproof and if you have any issues, contact me immediately.

You NEED another rig...stop kidding yourself
:)
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Opus - Thanks for the hit. I'm not joking when I say this, it's a nice F'n piece. Get ready for phrases like, "Please turn that down" ..."Will you PLEASE turn that down!" and the ever popular, "Do you want to go live with your Mother!".

The last comment may be a qoute from my childhood, but figured I may as well state it. It's part of my recovery.

You sure he doesn't have any cassette tapes or CD's? :D

Ha, he doesn't even have any speakers yet:D Its called behavior modification. Set the onkyo on his dresser and say "if you want speakers you better get that barn painted and scraped";)

I'm really intriqued by that Yammy tape deck. Will it skip to tracks? All the regular functions/abilities? I'm really having a hard time deciding if this unit will satisfy me or if I should wait for something else.

Hey Doro- the Denon looks like a good back-up player or to replace my garage older Sony multi-play carousel unit. How does it do with burnt cd's?

Capecodder - I don't own a single burned CD, so I cannot say for sure. I do know that it sounds pretty good. I can borrow some burns from my neighbor and double check it with headphones. I'll get back to you.

OK, sorry for the late response. I checked a couple CD-R's and they accessed and played fine....that doesn't mean they all will work, but there you go.

If you don't need it, I'll pass it on to Opus' son for his starter rig. Thanks for the interest either way.

    Opus....still want this?

I just completed the starter rig with a pair of r15's from fry's. The long journey has begun. He will either love me for it or hate me for it in 20 years:o

Now we can sit around and wait for his first "Hi, I'm new to Club Polk and was wondering what is the weakest link in my rig" post.:D
