No price yet but here is a brief description:

Measuring 2.4 metres (7.9 feet) by 1.4 meters (4.6 feet) and weighing 215 kg (474 lbs), the 103-inch panel is bigger than a double-sized mattress and almost as heavy as an upright piano.

The new panels will meet full high-definition specifications, meaning they can produce images at the highest standard of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels of resolution

It's over 450lbs !! Maybe I'll hock a kidney and pick one up. Got my first triple digit electric bill this month, so I hope the back of that thing is coated with solar cells.

I can see it ripping right out of my cantalever mount. That's gonna need some impressive bolts to keep it to the wall.

Yeah, this thing better come with some kind of a special support structure/mount. It weighs around 474 lbs. Could you imagine this thing ripping off the wall and busting itself and the floor upon impact..

The current maximum resolution for a high definition picture is 1,920 by 1,080 pixels.

The thing I wonder about is this, since the maximum amount of pixels is set, as you go up in screen size the pixels have to get larger and larger in order to fill up the screen. For example, a 50" (diagonal measurement) 1,920 x 1,080 pixel HDTV with a screen measuring 44 inches wide by 24 inches high has an area of 1056 square inches; a 103" (diagonal measurement) 1,920 x 1,080 pixel HDTV with a screen measuring 90 inches wide by 51 inches high has an area of 4590 square inches. The 103" HDTV has to fill an area 4.3 times the size of the 50" HDTV. Since the number of available pixels is the same for both sets, the 103" HDTV has to use pixels 4.3 times larger than the 50" set.

Of course, the larger the screen, the further you have to sit back from it, but there has to be an HDTV screen size threshold after which the pixels are so large that the picture does not qualify for HD status at any "reasonable" viewing distance. Why wouldn't an HDTV picture degrade to EDTV resolution when the individual pixels become relatively large?

My old eyes (with bifocals) won't be able to see the "screen door" pixel effect anyways. My eyes will be able to enjoy the mamouth size.

I have those African Royals sent me the $18 millon quick!

Same thought here, no WAF. I can't imagine telling the wife the TV is about as big as a double mattress and her saying sure, pick it up

I just got a samsung 61" DLP and the thing is HUGE, all my friends say its like being at the movies. I got plenty of space to move my couch back an extra 6 feet and I just cannot imagine having this 103" beast in my living room.

You wouldn't want to see what the Real Estate in Boston goes for. You can't get an apartment/condo around here for under half a million.

340 $ does seem outlandish. I'd get some hampsters on a wheel real quick.
