Does anybody know the impedance of both the SL2500 and SL3000 tweeters?
I'm thinking of replacing the SL2500's in a set of Monitor 10 series 2 with the SL3000 tweets. Are they compatible for a direct swap (based upon resistance)?

Thanks.

I don't know the impedance of the SL3000, but I measured the DC resistance at 5.6 ohms. The silk dome replacement for the SL3000, the RD0198-1, is also listed as the replacement for the SL2500, so I would think the impedances of the SL2500 and SL3000 are close, if not identical. The DC resistance of the RD0198-1 is also 5.6 ohms.

I have a pair of the Polk Monitor 10 Series 2. Years ago I replaced the SL2500 with the SL3000 and then the RD0198-1. Changing the tweeter is a slight improvement, whether the SL3000 or RD0198. In general, the 10 Series 2 is a nasal-sounding speaker. The tweeter comes in at a pretty low frequency, contributing to its forceful sound in the upper midrange/lower treble. In addition to my SRS models, I have 'hacked' this model with pretty good results. I based the crossover changes off the 7 Series 2, which I always thought sounded smoother. If you (or anyone else) is interested, I can dig up the documentation on the changes I made.
