I know Polk had it sub contracted out.

Question for Ken or Micah.

Who was the Sub contractor?

Do you guys have any laying around on the dusty shelves?

    weavercr,

If you don't mind me asking. Why do you want this cable?

IMO it the best speaker cable period. I have tested many brands. I used to have some but I no longer have any. I seen it tested at shows and out do some very expensive cable. Back when I brought mine I paid $2.00 a foot.

OK! I have read somethings about that cable and found one of the articles and this is a paragraph out of it. I will post the link after this post.

Now I have seen many quasi-technical dissertations out there recently purporting to show that different wire constructions have different pulse characteristics (of course they do, but at what frequencies, and under what test conditions?) Unless the tests are conducted with battery powered generators and oscilloscopes, any ripples seen on pulse tests are as likely to be grounding interactions as indications of cable merit. And, if you want to know more about adverse cable loads affecting amplifier performance, ask Polk Audio about their ill-fated Cobra Cables which tended to blow up output inductorless amplifiers - a cable and amplifier interaction that everybody could hear.

I knew about the problems with the wire and the solution to prevent the problem to amps. Tube amps were un-effected. Cheaply made solid state amps were killed quite often. I posted info on this wire in one of the wire thing pt...

The wire had the least inductive reactance and a very high capacitance reactance, which is what killed many amps.

Polk "killed" alot of amps, I have heard the SDA's refered to as "amp killers" Cobra + SDA's = dead amps laying all around.
    Dodd - Battery Preamp
Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
    Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
    ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
    Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
    Outlaw ICBM - crossover
    Beringher BFD - sub eq

Where is the remote? Where is the $%#$% remote!

POLK (COBRA) SPEAKER CABLE (MULTIPLES ONLY)- This speaker wire (8 cables in parallel) has proven to be superior to every other cable that I have compared with it, at all prices points, for over 20 years now. It was even far superior to the $15,000, top-of-the-line Kimber at the Las Vegas CES show a few years ago.

The Polk is very transparent, lucid, clean and extended in the highs. It is not for those audiophiles looking for something "euphonic" to complement digital or solid-state sound. It is the most revealing cable ever made and it must be used in parallel or else it will sound lean on low-impedance speakers.

OK! Hope you find some. I think I will stay away? Hell, I'm a cheap **** that will not spend more than .50' for wire anyway?

Cool! When I picked up my pair of Monitor 10s the guy threw one in. He would've given me both, but he couldn't find the other one. I may have to compare it against my IXOS Gamma cables.
