It may look retarded, but it actually sounds pretty good (to me at least). It's "almost" complete. The 2 Phase Linear amps on the lower right rack will be removed and brought to the upstairs system to bi-amp the 3.1tl's.
I got two other Bose 1801 animal amps to bi-amp the 2.3tl's and I'm still hoping that my SAE 2400 amp will come out of the shop in working order so it will power the rear Fxi5's instead of the Phase Linear 400. The SRS are already running bi-amped.
I attempted a picture showing the "light show" from the system with the room lights out, but it didn't turn out too good.
Amplifiers: 1-SAE Mark IV, 4-SAE 2400, 1-SAE 2500, 2-SAE 2600, 1-Buttkicker BKA 1000N w/2-tactile transducers. Speakers:Polk SDA SRS, 3.1TL, FXi5, FXi3, 2-SVS 20-29, Yamaha, SVS center sub. Power:2-Monster HTS3500, Furman M-8D & RR16 Plus. 2-SAE 4000 X-overs, SAE 5000a noise reduction, MSB Link DAC III, MSB Powerbase, Behringer 2496, Monarchy DIP 24/96.

Wow! Very nice Joe! Have you reinforced the floor for all the weight?:D
Do you play the 2.3's and the SRS's simultaneously?
Congrats on your system(s)!Carl -
Carl, no need to re-inforce the floor as the setup is in the basement. I do have to find a way to get rid of the t.v. and wall vibrations though. Oh, what you don't see in the picture are the TWO SVS 20-39CS subwoofers that are BEHIND the 2.3tl's.
And yes, I do play the SRS and 2.3's simultaneously but not all the time. It depends on how much "presentation" I want from the soundstage. If you'll notice in the second picture between the racks and the speakers, the whole shebang is plugged into ONE wall socket. That will change of course. ( I'm surprised that the circuit breaker hasn't jumped).
The next step is to place the 2 racks INTO the right side wall as well as my 2 turntables, mixer, albums, dvd's and cd's. Then I'll have easy access to the rear connections from the other room because it's a pain in the **** to get behind there in order to make changes. You really DON'T want to see what the wiring looks like back there.Amplifiers: 1-SAE Mark IV, 4-SAE 2400, 1-SAE 2500, 2-SAE 2600, 1-Buttkicker BKA 1000N w/2-tactile transducers. Once I have everything finalized inside the right wall and when I'm ready to get into some serious cable management, then I'll put in the new tweets in the SRS.
I'm already considering upgrading to 7.1 with something like these 2 choices:
http://www.av123.com/products_product.php?section=processors&product=28.1
http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/990.html
I need to do more research though and hopefully I'll get some input from the CP members and some hardcore suggestion for a receiver. Budget is between $500 and $1000.
What I need is some type of HT Receiver that doesn't have a built in amplifier (2nd zone amp is acceptable) doesn't have a tuner, and has the latest technology (dolby this and dolby that etcc...)Amplifiers: 1-SAE Mark IV, 4-SAE 2400, 1-SAE 2500, 2-SAE 2600, 1-Buttkicker BKA 1000N w/2-tactile transducers. Not sure about the heat but there is somewhere around 3500 watts r.m.s. at 8 ohms available. When I first set it up I was really pumping the volume just to see what it would do. But I enjoy it much more at low to moderate levels.Amplifiers: 1-SAE Mark IV, 4-SAE 2400, 1-SAE 2500, 2-SAE 2600, 1-Buttkicker BKA 1000N w/2-tactile transducers. That is simply nuts!
I'll be honest, I did get a bit aroused by those photos. This thread could give some serious competition to the "Babe Thread."
Ya know, you don't need a X-mas tree now. Just throw a little lighted star on top the cabinet and you're all set. Lay the presents at the base of cabinet, turn off the lights and no one will ever know.
Seriously, great job!
