I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. With regard to the low scoring, check out this commentary from ESPN.com:

"Scoring like an Ace Of Base member in the early '90s. Sweden averaged three goals per game during World Cup qualifying. And while the irrational soccer haters who think the sport is too low-scoring may not think three goals per game is all that impressive, irrational soccer haters have never been accused of being especially bright. So look at it this way: the Super Bowl champion Steelers averaged only about three touchdowns per game last year, it's just that each touchdown was awarded seven points (yes, I realize it's officially only six). So if it helps, let's say Sweden averaged 21 points during World Cup qualifying. Wow! Amazing! Soccer is so high-scoring!"
With footbal, there's some beat downs takin place between those goals. Regardless of the number of goals/touchdowns, football is entertaining, soccer is not. Tell me how many people would watch a game if they were playing touch football. So what if someone has some cool footwork on the field. If I wanted to oogle over something like footwork I'm likely to sit down and watch figure skating with them dancing all over the ice.......or dancing with the stars.

That said, I watch golf. Not a fan of many others.......:D

Also, someone should run a story where Bush and Vincente Fox make a sidebet on immigration. Watch the ratings climb......lol.

according to statistics, soccer players suffer more concussions that in any other sport

    followed by hockey

The reckless abandon with which some of these players go up for headers. It's a wonder more of 'em don't break their necks.

Still, if you want to see some real ****-whuppin', check out an Aussie Rules game. Those blokes are freaks...

They spend half the match chewing on their own cartilage:D

Yeah, I played Rugby for years, and my brother played Rugby for the Badgers. It definitely seperates the men from the boys. I'm lucky I never got injured in that sport. I'm a big guy and some of those little **** that play that sport will scare the hell out of you. I still managed to hold my own and dish out a little as well. ;)

I spent six years living in Sydney and Wollongong, Aussie rule is indeed a freak show. I am sure the Aussies would strongly disagree with me. They've shown that there is NO rule in Aussie rule matches, almost literally!

Plus, being in the middle of a scrum is like having a brick house thrown on your back....

Rugby players are bruisers, but Aussie Rules has its own vibe. Kinda like soccer and rugby rolled into one. Think of it as soccer without handballs and the ability to tackle proper...

    evil, evil ****

And you're right Demi --- it's the smaller **** who cause all the damage.

That's the joke -- there are no "rules" in Aussie Rules...
they can party like hell too...
I spent some time hanging out some players a couple of summers back
members of the Atlanta Kookaburras -- there was always a fight or three, and lotsa lotsa drinkin'

On to Italy and Ghana, white and blue, effin' aggressive playing out of the gate on both. Hopefully I got to see red card issued on this game.. :)

Those that haven't tried to play golf really don't understand the skillset required to play the game. I know the same can be said for just about any sport, which makes both soccer and golf boring and exciting to different segments of the population.

For me, it's what happens in the filler time between goals that makes a game interesting to watch. Soccer is a lot of just (albeit strategically) kicking a ball back and forth........

Oh no, I just said they hit harder than you'd think. I know it makes the little guys feel better to hear it doesn't matter, but a pissed off big man is also a force to be reckoned with. :D

Who said anything about skill? :D

I'm sure it takes a lot of skill to hop on one foot for two hours straight, but that doesn't make it worth watching on TV. I enjoy playing golf and baseball, but would rather watch paint dry than to watch either sport on TV.

filler time? I guess golf is better than watching the 95% viewing time of guys scratching their crotch and spitting that makes up televised baseball, but old men wearing polos talking to their caddies and throwing grass around isn't much better. At least with soccer guys are running around and breaking a sweat. :D

There are lots of sports I will participate in, but not watch. Soccer, Hockey, and Golf are the three big ones. I still find Baseball at least remotely exciting. Golf...It's a love hate relationship. No matter how good you think you're getting someone will always take you down a few notches. I still like it. Beer, cigars, friends, and being outside. it's a great game and we have some of the best courses in the world in this state.

    both, unfortunately.

It was a one-sided game, the ball literally stayed on one-half of the field. The US side.

I am watching Ghana and Italy game, and I am very concerned to the outcome for Group E. We are in a company of Wolves team: fast, agressive, and extremely good in controlling the ball. If today's US performance is any indicator of what we'll see on Saturday, I am praying for a major plague to overwhelm the Italian team. :)

My theory is that FIFA is punishing the US for the Iraqi Freedom war. Same with Australia and Japan by putting them with Brazil.

Togo is down to 10 man, 1 red card ensured that. Korea is pressing very hard. Togo is also pushing hard. A very dynamic game. Both team have their fair share of the yellow cards.
