I just picked up this pair on Audiogon and I should have them by next week. I am curious to see how they compare with the LSIs. They are a floor demo and come with the full 10 year warranty so I will just resell them for what I paid if I am not blown away. Does anyone else have these or has anyone compared them to the Polks?

I've heard about 6 pairs of VS in the past week...outstanding speaker.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Oh my goodness!!
I've heard this speaker, but the setup wasn't approppriate (being powered by a receiver). Nevertheless, this exact model and color is on my short list.
Congrats. I'm sure you'll enjoy them. When do they arrive? Make sure you post a review of them here. My prediction is that you'll keep them.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

I should get them by Friday or so of next week. I am concerned because my room is HUGE but the actual front stage is kinda cramped. I guess I will see how they image compared to the Polks. I actually did manage to get a demo of these today at a local shop and they sound amazing! I guess I will see how they sound in my room. The only thing I am not really feeling is the Von Schweikert center channel- LCR15. I heard it today with the VR4Jr.s and it is not really up to their caliber.... I don't think the Lsi9 will match up with the Vr4 Jrs at all either so that may be a concern. Supposedly VAS has a more worthy center channel on the horizon.Sharp Elite 70

I have heard the VR4jr and I did not like them at all.... I was hoping to be blown away as I always thought these guys had that "nirvana" hype around them.

It's my understanding that if you listen to them before they break in that you will be severely underwhelmed. They require about 400 hours or so of LOUD break in time according to the VSA site. The set I listened to yesterday was totally broken in and sounded just heavenly on only a NAD receiver. My speakers are floor demos but ,according to the store, only have about 100 hours on them so I will need to round them off.Sharp Elite 70

I heard the same pair Joey did on an all tube rig. Awesome sound imo. Different tastes I guess but if I had the means I'd seriously consider owning a pair. Congrats btw!Audio: Polk S15 * Polk S35 * Polk S10 * SVS SB-1000 Pro

Veneer looks gorgeous Darla! Love it.
I really wish I liked them when I heard them, if I did, it would be in my system right now. I dig the way they look and the way it uses that two cabinet technique ala Wilson. My dealer was selling his pair for $2700, which isnt a bad price at all if I jumped on them.
I'll try to listen to them again someday just to make sure I'm not hearing things.Magico M2, JL113v2x2, EMM, ARC Ref 10 Line, ARC Ref 10 Phono, VPIx2, Lyra Etna, Airtight Opus1, Boulder, AQ Wel&Wild, SRA Scuttle Rack, BlueSound+LPS, Thorens 124DD+124SPU, Sennheiser, Metaxas R2R -

I've found that X-400 hours takes no real time out of your schedule at all with a "test" disc and the "repeat" function. I use an Ayre Burn-In CD, turn it up...press Mute and go to work for a week or two. I spend alot of time with cans, so it's not a big deal.

7&1/2 to 9 would fill the void better than a larger shot size. Some folks use 'sand box' sand as it usually is cleaned and sterilized. Darla - do you have a Gander Mountain or a Bass Pro anywhere close? I believe I went by a Bass Pro store on my way from Miami Intl to Miami Beach my last trip into town. You should be able to buy 25lb bags of chilled lead shot in the reloading section of the hunting/shooting area. I use #6 shot, however the smaller sizes as Rich mentioned (#7 thru #9) will also work. With #6 shot any leftover goes into reloading shells for trap and sporting clays! I have found that the lead shot works better for weight and mass, although using something like reptile sand from the pet store might give you better dampening and resonation control.DKG999
