I've never bothered with "turn-on" sequences, though I think for tubed equipment it may be a different story...maybe a polkie tube-head will chime in with more info.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

I have my amp turn on last after a 15 second delay.
It just helps prevent spikes or surges when everything turns on at the same time.Skynut

Chiming in a bit late. It really depends if you amplifier has a delay (muting) circuit (usually a relay). If it does, it really doesn't matter the switching order. If it doesn't then amp on last; amp off first.
My turn on sequence is pre-amp, dac, cdp, amp.
My turn off sequence is amp, cdp, dac and then pre-amp after the caps have discharged in the amp.

Of course if your pre has a mute switch it should be used first, now is anyone confused..............
Your trying to prevent pops and the caps from emptying out the last of their energy through the speakers. Doing it wrong can damage your system.
