Do any of you watch the new Battlestar Galactica series?

It's really a damn good series. MUCH MUCH better than the original.

    A good buddy of mine also likes it better than the original but I just cant get into it.

    I think its the whole "Jane Wayne" thing. Seeing a bunch of pretty little cover girls acting all tough just looks stupid to me. I have no problem with them casting women in these roles but Id rather see them get chicks that look the part.

    Its not that hard to do. Both Sigourney Weaver in Aliens and Linda Hamilton in Terminator 2 were both very attractive but were believable as "tough guys".

    Aside from that I do like the special effects and Ed Olmos will always have my respect since because of his role as Castillo on Miami Vice.

    Yep, we watch it all the time. Sure beats the hell out of the original series. I never found Lorne Greene to be very believable in the roll of Adama. And no stupid mechanical dog either.:rolleyes:

    I bought the first season on dvd a while back and powered right through that sucker. I 've seen most of the second season, but not in order and it's driving me nuts. I guess I'll have to get it on dvd too, but all I've been able to find is the first 6 or 7 episodes in one collection. Haven't even seen the rest on dvd,.

    Sci-Fi showed the original series a few weeks ago and I couldn't even watch it. I loved it when i was a kid, but now.... it really was BAD. The acting sucked!!

    Yep and the 1st part of the second season. Not sure if they've released the second part of the second season.

    Can't wait for the new season to start this fall.

    Good series but I have issues with how loosy goosy the military was in the second season. At least they don't send the bridge team on away missions. Usually.

    Mac,

    That chick that plays Starbuck seems to know how to throw a punch pretty well and if it weren't for the on-screen sex-scenes she's had with more than one of the male characters, would come across pretty butch, imo.:D
