B&K 2140 or Rotel 990bx

Looking for immediate 6 month fix to address some lsi9 power issues until I am ready to move up to a 5 channel amp. I am eyeballing two that are available at the moment in my price range for the temp fix

B&K 2140 - 2c rated at 140 (8 ohm) / 180 (4ohm)
Rotel 990bx - 2c 200 (8) / 330 (4)

Looks like I can get either for around the same price. The rotel has more power but it older (mid 90's) and B&K is from early 2000's.

I currently have a 2 zone 7 channel receiver, I can always use this 2c amp for the second zone after I pickup another amp and speakers later.

    They are both good amps. I like B&K alittle better running Lsi.

    Where are you located?
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    I would go with the Rotel.

    It's hard for me to provide much useful info, not having heard the B&K...but I can say I had a Rotel 990 for quite a while (just sold it about 6 months ago) and liked it very much. Excellent value at current used prices. That extra power gave it a sense of effortlessness that was a step above other Rotel amps such as the 980. From what I have heard from people I trust, Rotel has never bettered the 990, though I have not heard their recent digital amps.

    B & K are great, and I have demoed quite a few in the last month. Rotel isn't too shabby either. If you can listen to both that would be the best bet as neither would be a bad option.
